This sounds like a buffer overflow problem. Have you configured your com port settings on the PC?
If you go to the advanced settings in your device manager for that com port you can turn your buffer down for send and transmit. Try that and see what happens.
Is it possible to create blocks that can be modified like you can in AutoCad?
For example I have a block that I insert into AutoCad that has 4 text lines:
Tool#
D0#
D0 Value
Height
Then each time I can click the Block edit the text and be done.
hmm sounds strange. *.SLD is an Autocad format. ( AutoCADSlide ) I would double check with the designers and make sure that they are saving the files as *.SLDPRT.
+1 to Psychomill
if its like our Heian routers and your block delete switch is up while running the machine will skip the / lines. if it is down it will read the / lines.
do you have real time virus protection enabled? maybe that is conflicting with your .MCX files?
if you are running real time scanning you can try turning it off and see what happens.
Try this
start/programs/mastercam8/cncreg
change the option to mastercam. it is probably on standard windows. I think you have to hit apply and then ok also to make it take affect.
just talked to the tech guy at our reseller and he says that we shouldn’t expect it until mid sept. they don’t even have plans for training yet... shouldn’t all of the resellers be on the same rollout schedule?
If your virus scan has real time protection , look to see if you can set exceptions for certain file types. I have exceptions set for all cad files that I use and it really helped.
Is anyone here currently using solidworks '03 and mastercam v 8.1.1.
they upgraded the entire staff to solidworks '03 last night. now im getting parasolid not found and kernel interface error PK error code 58.
anyone have any ideas?
the demo version would have to many options for my application. we have pcs at each of our 14 work centers that currently use a viewer. and i think our operators would waste way to much time with the bells and whistles of a demo software. all they need is the ability to open a file and mark up any machine specific set up notes. or ( cough , cough ) possible programmer errors. thanks again for the info.
thanks for the info but a demo version will not
work for my application. i was hoping someone had
something like auto desks volo view but for master cam.
i will start this out by saying yes i have a registered version of MC and yes the dealer in my area has also been contacted. ( just wanted to avoid having you guys type the carbon copied response about contacting the dealer)
we are running Heian wood routers with Fanuc controllers and have been in need of a post since we started using MC.
the post that we have is rather generic and we have to do a lot of manual editing to every program.
i would like to know if there is anyone else out there using multi head wood routers that may be able to give me a little advise on where to start looking for a good customized post. our dealer has been working on a post for us but has made little to no positive advancements to this point. i would like to start exploring other options. any help would be appreciated. (MC ROUTER V8.1)
