  1. You might need to install "DesignTracker", which is on our CD. This is software provided to us by Autodesk that is necessary when importing Inventor .IPT and .IAM files into Mastercam. If you've got Inventor installed already, you don't need to install DesignTracker. Try installing DesignTracker and then start up Mastercam again and try File/Convert/Autodesk/Read and select your .IPT file. Keep me posted. PDG P.S. We don't support .IDW files, but we've started looking into it.
  2. It sounds to me like your .TXT file is out of synch with your .EXE file. In your Mastercam directory, what are the dates of Mill9.exe and mill9.txt (or mill8.exe and mill8.txt if you're using V8) PDG
  3. SolidWorks should be able to read .X_T files generated using older versions of Parasolid. They are currently using V14 (like we are) but they can handle older Parasolid files (like we can). So he should still be able to easily get from Mastercam V8.1 or 9.0 --> SolidWorks 2003 PDG
  4. I agree - write out your solid to Parasolid format and SolidWorks should not have any problem with it. If you're taking surfaces to SolidWorks, then I think you'll have to tolerate the big IGES files PDG
  5. The message that BK mentions, which can appear when moving a solid and it's associated wireframe with Xform has been reported several times and a correction has been made which will be part of V9.1 SP1, which does not yet have a release date. PDG
  6. Correct. I was hoping that the problem wasn't at our end (but that hardly ever happens). We'll check it out. PDG
  7. David H, How are you defining the Drilled points - with AddDrillPoint() or AddDrillPointToDepth()? If you're defining every point with AddDrillPointToDepth(), then the 'Depth' parameters on the dialog will indeed grey-out, since it's unnecesary. PDG
  8. Windows NT by any chance? Did the customer install the MetaCut software that came with V9.1? We've had complaints about some other software packages failing to run with that comibination. PDG
  9. Peter, This request is more likely to be considered if it is e-mailed to [email protected]. That is the central location to which dealers and customers should be sending requests. The same goes for bugs. It's one thing to get others to hear your ideas (and probably attach ideas of their own) but it's another thing completely to get those ideas to the people who can do something about them. PDG
  10. MC9RS.DLL is not a C-hook. All C-Hooks are DLLs but not all DLLs are C-hooks. It actually contains all the dialogs (and all their buttons & checkboxes, etc) used by Mastercam. Please re-read Andreas' instructions. I haven't yet, but MC9RS.DLL must be in the Mastercam folder and will be grabbed automatically by the .EXEs. PDG
  11. Man - I'm glad I'm not a first time poster! The reaction that 'litnin' got from his post is embarassing! And I see this happening a lot lately. Someone comes on with a comment that isn't "Mastercam's the greatest" and suddenly he's got people jumping down his throat. We KNOW we've got shortcomings... We KNOW that there are things that other packages do better... We KNOW that users who switch from another package might be losing functionality they had before... We KNOW that we need to hear these things. In 'litnin's case, he tried several times to explain himself, but people were still on the attack. This forum is supposed to provide support for Mastercam users. Let's try to keep it at that. PDG
  12. Oppiz sent me his file and I'll bang on it today. PDG
  13. Yes - this is a problem in V9.1. Virtually any time you go into the Operation Mgr or edit an operation's parameters, we left something in there that is resetting the depth to 0. We are investigating this and a handful of other bugs that have been reported. We will in all likelihood be releasing a V9.1 Service Pack, but we don't have a firm date in mind yet. PDG
  14. Oppiz, Based on that error message I'd say it's not a valid DWG file. Can you verify that it opens in Autocad? If you don't have access to Autocad, or if you do and it looks good there, send the file to me ([email protected]) and I'll check it out for you. PDG [ 05-01-2003, 05:04 PM: Message edited by: ProductDevelopmentGuy ]
  15. Trode Man is correct. If you stitch your trimming surfaces into a single sheet, you can trim to the sheet. PDG
  16. Regarding ACAD 2004, we can't yet promise a delivery date for support of files saved in the 2004 format. As stated above, saving it to any of the older formats works fine. PDG
  17. Send bugs - including a thorough description and any files (MC9 or otherwise) - to [email protected] PDG
  18. Kathy, Send it to me ([email protected]) and we'll take a look at it here for you. Sounds strange. But I think you knew that. Also what are you using? V9.0Sp1? PDG
  19. And I bet the V9 Autodesk importer brings them in fine. If not, send an example Autocad file to me at [email protected] PDG
  20. Paul, So you notified Mastercam ([email protected]) about these bugs, right???? We do listen to beta testers. We'll even listen to customers if they'll talk to us. PDG
  21. During the install or when attempting to run V9.1? PDG
  22. Stephen, Can I forward the PRT file to Pro/E's software TechSupport people? PDG
  23. Ssaults, Is it possible for you to send me the file? We can review it here and get in touch with Pro/E TechSupport about it. You can e-mail it to [email protected] PDG
