  8. Crazy...Thanks for the reply...Im keepin' BUSY Craig, ________________________________________________ 1. The Error indicated above with the arc created by endpoints does illustrate the error. ________________________________________________ Reply: 1. Im not to sure which error you are reffering ________________________________________________ 3. It WILL, generally, be caused when the radius you are cutting using "R" designation is within a 2 or 3 degrees of 180 degrees. _________________________________________________ Reply: 3. When will this condition occur...177 deg or 183 Deg.? + what type of part would use this type of arc (If the machine had a problem with 180 +/- 2 or 3 deg., I would use "breakarcs :1 quadrants " The condition I reffer to in my last post: The " R " is mostly for corner blending not circle cutting .... NOT( full circle or 180 deg x 2). AND (ALSO only on SLOPPY hand written progs... NOT Mastercam Code!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) Tony G Almost Employed Senior Programmer N.E Massachusetts - Southern New Hampshire _________________________________________ End mills and tooling are like The "AMMO" And coolant and chips are like the enemy Under your boots as you advance in the Manufacturing Battle --------------------------------------------------
  9. Good Day, I am very surprised no One gave the theory of circular Int. ( "IJK" VS. "R" word ) I taught MDI or hand written nc prog. when Mcam was an infant, for over 10 Yrs. ( Keep in mind when it comes to Mcam, the posted Progs., Whether in "IJK" word or "R" word, both are identical. IJK word programming: In this type of programming, the arc center must be defined almost exactly ( within .0001 -.0002 ) or the machine will alarm out. R word programming: In this type of programming, the arc center is not defined, ( it is what I call the lazy mans circle int.) The arc center is a result of a combination of the start, end point and The radius. You can be off on your start and end point and radius and still connect. ________________________________________________ Here's the good part. If you use the R word and your math is off, the machine will just "fake" the move. ________________________________________________ the only problem is it will connect, but it may not be pretty (possible out of tolerance) Most likely non-tangent arcs to lines. ( Keep in mind when it comes to Mcam, the posted Progs., Whether in "IJK" word or "R" word, both are identical. 11. Good Evenin' I had the same prob...try using V9.0 The geom will regen 5-10 times faster I asked the guys @ CNC... They said they changed something in the color pallet in 9.1 I had 10000 2D arcs and lines and as i created toolpaths the regen slowed even more...I accidently opened the same file in V9.0 and every thing sped up Try it, if you still have 9.0 around HTH Tony G Almost Employed Senior Programmer N.E Massachusetts - Southern New Hampshire _________________________________________ End mills and tooling are like The "AMMO" And coolant and chips are like the enemy Under your boots as you advance in the Manufacturing Battle --------------------------------------------------

Then Jay changed my t/c plane to 15 and corrected it,and output a A300. and got rid of the Post error I was getting: "Only single-axis rotation is allowed!" I can post 2 of the 3 indexes correct in my prog, Just need to know what fixed the third opp .? 18. Good Day, I worked for a die casting company for 10 years. ACuZinc is a combination of Zinc, Copper and Aluminum, very strong. ACuZinc is also considerably harder than Zamak and ZA-8 alloys, aluminum and magnesium or even brass. Machinability is just , OK Like a-390 or a-13 aluminum (die-cast) HTH Tony G Almost Employed Senior Programmer N.E Massachusetts - Southern New Hampshire _________________________________________ End mills and tooling are like The "AMMO" And coolant and chips are like the enemy Under your boots as you advance in the Manufacturing Battle -------------------------------------------------- [ 08-18-2003, 08:34 PM: Message edited by: CNCme ]
  19. Good Day, I would like to edit a chain, and not rechain. On a partial chain, which I create as much as I do closed chains. Many programmers will use a closed chain, and end up cutting alot of air. ( they make it easier on the programming side, but companies pay it on more machining time to cut air...which you cannot sell.) I will modify a closed or partial chain in order to cut less air and more metal, which is more work on the programming side, but makes a less expensive part on the cutting side. 21. Good Evenin Phil, An updated v8 post might be the problem, try v9 mpmaster from add-ons First see if you can get my file to work on the FTP site. 22. Good Evenin Phil, I created an example with an outside notch with outside cut going into the notch and was able to use in chain manager, and it slowed on the way in and sped up on the way out...also after, I went back and selected " change at point... " and the areas of the chain that were changed were a red color . I will put this file on the website (FTP) In MC9 Folder File name : change_at_point.mc9 Also I am using V9.1 sp1 and mpmaster,w/add-ons Tony G Unemployed Senior Programmer N.E Massachusetts - Southern New Hampshire _________________________________________ End mills and tooling are like The "AMMO" And coolant and chips are like the enemy Under your boots as you advance in the Manufacturing Battle. _________________________________________ [ 08-01-2003, 04:34 PM: Message edited by: CNCme ]
  23. Good Day, I have had similar trouble like this... By chance do the arcs share the same arc center? You can also extend or close the arcs to see if in fact they overlap, and then break at the intersection point. 24. Good Evenin What do you have for a MC version...V7, V8, V9, And what Ver. Post...? Open the post in the Editor, and check the post version. Some old posts, even though their updated, dont have the newer funtionality of a new post... and also get the add-ons from patches tab above.
