Good Day,
When I go to screen, configure, screen tab,
shading...button, and set Colors to
all 1 material...copper, and save,
when I opem MC again, the shading goes
back to original color. I would like
it to stay in all 1 material...
can this be done...???
Thanks in advance

Glenn,
You know I looked for that one time

MC Is so VAST and Has no boundries...

I learn something...and I Thank,

Good Evenin,
I have Cimco pro with backplot, but Im not
aware of any translate, or rotate nc code
It would be nice...

First of all,
WHEN surfacing MC does not take, first,
the diameter of the tool into account.
AND if there was a diameter at the tip
of any sphere mill IT would be ZERO...
Surfacing only keeps any sphere mill TANGENT
to any surface... and IF the tool taper
encounters
any material taper which is less than the
mill taper it will violate (gouge) the
Material.

Good ?
Sorry for the additional post, but...
I reread your original post and saw
that you are using a taper endmill
when surfacing.? can you tell me why.?
Because, I dont believe the surface
will recognize the taper. Are you trying
to generate a taper surface.???
I would use a taper endmill only in 2D.
Can someone reply and settle this

Good evenin'
I have played with this
I have found that if you use a straight
or taper end mill (with or without corner
radius )any angle any corner radius...
the taper end mill will backplot the same
as a flat endmill...1/2 dia flat will
backplot the same as any 1/2 dia taper
endmill. When using comp. left
both 1/2 endmills will post out .25
from the edge...at any depth cut.
I assume you are using a taper mill for
1. milling a taper wall to avoid surfacing
and
2. are not reaming a tapered hole
Now the cool part...(where the corner radius
on the taper mill comes in )
If, when using a taper mill with a corner radius
AND you use "taper walls" in "depth cuts "
MC ignors the 1/2 dia and will keep the corner
radius tangent to the part geometry at any
depth cut. One other thing, always set taper
walls angle to match taper on endmill
...if the angle on the endmill is greater
than the part angle, the endmill will gouge
the part.
Ive used taper walls in place of surfacing...
try it... a single straight line contour, with
taper walls and you will see from top view
the angle shift at each depth.
like I said "I played with it
Let me know how you do

Just want to make sure, cause it sounded like
you thought a spaceball could be used as a
mouse, they both have diff. funtions.
You can not substiute one for the other.
Spaceball moves the model...mouse moves
the cursor. There is something called a
space mouse, but I dont know if it
does both funtions.

You go girl...(guy)...you know
Good evenin,
havn't tried Cimco pro.?...it backplots.
I use it alot for hand written and
old unknown nc's
Also its not to costly

All kiddin' aside, are you talking about a
spaceball or a trak-ball, the trak-ball
is a mouse, but a spaceball is something diff.?

Good Day
I use both, whereas they both have diff.
funtions, mouse on the right for windows
apps., and space ball on left only for
3D apps. ( model rotate...zoom...)
They should work independently,
one for each hand doing diff. things

In SmartCAM offset tool path G41,G42 tool is shown on proper side of tool path, not tool centerline.
________________________________________________
I'm sorry,but I dont understand...
I didnt now there is a " Proper "
Side for the tool to be on
for G41/G42...I can use this code
on either side or in the center
...and climb or conv.
I dont think you have used the
lead in/out...xy stock...multi pass
...wear 0r reverse wear to the fullest...
This is a very powerful tool that
I find different ways to use everyday
and Ive used MC for 7-8 years
Take some more time

Haas is very good for the money...
You dont need 4th axis drive board unless
you have some complex cams or somthing.
I have done some simultaneous milling
using m21 to index... just need a lot
of feed and dwell tweakin. But very
good just for front, side, back
positioning

There used to be a post for dynapath that
I used to use at another Co.in MC...
V7 or V6..and it worked... theres nothing
in v8 or v9 , i havent installed any extra
posts...mabey I'LL try
Chris,
Screen savers are a big no-no...where I
used to work (ha-ha) monitors stayed on for
years (5 aprox. ) and never had any problems
... The " then new monitors " dont burn out
or burn in like the old vga's did...If any
thing when not in use...turn it off .
Thats whaT I do

GOOD EVENiN,
In your Cimco---
If you have ver 4.22.02 or near, under
NC funtions - you have "remove empty lines"
...I have had trouble with LF/CR on Fanuc.
also we used to set MC comunications to
DOS mode and that would remove the extra
line spaces. There is a parameter in the
Fanuc control that also will control
LF/CR... if you call Fanuc USA
