In a small shop with 5 seats of X6. All pc's run XP. Looking into upgrading to Win7. Not sure that all the computers will support 64bit. Have a couple questions. Will X6 32bit open X6 64bit files? Will X6 64bit open X6 32bit files? I see that 64bit won't let you save backwards. Can you still save as different file types? That is, can I save as a .dwg or .x_t file and then open that in a 32bit computer? I would prefer to keep everything the same, but more memory is good.
Thanks, Mike
No, there was a full filepath in the log. I've never had any trouble with it either. The funny thing is it didn't flag anything from the MX6 version. I think it's a false positive, but I'll need to convince the boss.
Hi, I ran a scan on my computer with a program called superantispyware. It found some tracking cookies and it said the X+ uninstaller file for MCX5 was a trojan. I let the program remove it and ran the scan again. Now it said that the installer file for X+ for MCX4 is a trojan. I don't use X4 anymore, so I let the scanner remove that file too. It's scanning again now. I'm hoping these are false positives, because otherwise I'll probably have to remove them from the 3 seats of Mcam. And I really like X+. Any thoughts?

I get that too. It will work if I set the chain manager to 3d. Even though the text(geometry)is in 2d and on the c-plane.
The only time I have a problem is with the window selection option.

"Is your lead in/out too large for your contour? Try changing the size.
I have gouge check and infinite look ahead on without a problem. "
No, it wasn't even close to being a gouge. 2" hole, 1/2 em, small lead, cutter comp set to computer. That was the only operation that was a problem.
Mike
a coworker had an issue on the leadin/out on an inside contour of a circle. With gouge check on, there wasn't a leadin/out. With gouge check on and infinite look ahead off, there was a lead in but not lead out. With gouge check off there was a leadin/out, and no gouge. So he used circlemill instead.

quote: did you do file/open or file/update ?
Not sure what you mean?
when opening a MC file?
I've had issues when I did file/open (with X4) on files created with previous versions of Mastercam. It was looking for the post in the folder that the .mcx file was in. When I did file/update from the Mastercam toolbar everything worked.
Mike
Same problem I had, I got it to work using file/update instead of open. If you can't just open a file, then I think it's time for a new file extension.
Mike
Just curious, you said you had that program for a while. Do you know what version it was made in? I've had older files that I had to use file/update folder not file/open to get them to work.
