  1. How did you go with this part? What did you end up doing to get it to work for you?
  2. That sounds correct, I do most of my 3d toolpaths from the TOP plane with standdard WCS so it gives me what I want in that scenario, but with Rotated planes for me i think it gives the minimum z position relative to the top plane
  3. I get this heaps ninja, I use holders all the time for verification. Every time you add a holder to a tool in an operation you have to update the tool in every other operation...I cant wait til the day when a holder is assigned directly to a tool and not to an operation! Also I am not certain why adding a holder would make all of operations dirty and need to regenerate them all??? So annoying! Thanks for asking the question anyway, I thought it was me too!
  4. The "depth" tag only works for 2D, but the "min-z" will work for all. That path in my image was a Surface High Speed waterline finishing toolpath. I've only been using activereports since X5, so maybe it was different prior to that?
  5. Also, Our DMU70 evo's and DMU 50 will release the door when the program ends...I'm guessing the M02 signals something
  6. http://www.emastercam.com/board/index.php?showtopic=25873 May not be a direct answer to your question, but perhaps gives you a place to start looking? HTH Brendan
  7. Note that there is a Depth section under Both the tool and the Operation subreports
  8. Chris, I've attached a segment of my setup sheet which has the max Z depth shown...Are you referring to depth of cut or maximum cutting depth? To achieve my results, set your recordset to //OPERATION and your datafield is MIN-Z...Guaranteed this DOES work. I can try and provide more info if you are still stuck.
  9. There should be a MIN-Z field defined under Operation. I use it in mine all the time. If you Haven't already, check out the setup sheet XML outline and tag glossary in the mastercam help file, It is a good outline of the XML structure. HTH Brendan
  10. This drove me crazy for a little while too until i worked it out. Is there a simple way to change this for all future created ops to be under the same program name? As in I can edit NC name of all current toolpaths, but when i create a new toolpath it will not necasarily have the same name. Is this just bad file management on my part?
  11. For ease of editing .rtf is your best bet, i understand you will lose some of your formatting, so you may need to make some modifications to your AR so that when you save as a .rtf the formatting comes across consistently. Shouldn't take too much work, just a bit of fiddling with layout
  12. The place where i used to work had stops very similar to that except they were home made. Basically a bit of tube that goes the length of your spindle, with a bush along it the diameter of your spindle bore. We had a flange on the back end of it so we could screw it to the back end of the spindle like you were saying. And we had heaps of them in different sizes so you could add support if we were barfeeding. That item looks quite handy if you want to pay for it.
  13. Does your chuck have threaded holes on the front of it near the bore? You Could make an adaptor that gets fastened to chuck and has a screw stop on the inside with a locknut. What lengths are you looking at? If you have a through spindle you could look at making a stop from the other end
  14. Have you tried a surface finish flowline with axis substitution? use a ballnose cutter and this should work well. HTH Brendan
  15. ftp://mastercam:[email protected]/ it can be found under JParis's pinned topic "Important topics" Glad to help, Brendan
  16. +1 This is a good way to do it! Rest rough is a great toolpath for things like this!
  17. I dont have much insight to your specific thread application, but as a general rule i will trust a drawing over a model. HTH
  18. http://www.emastercam.com/forum-guidelines/ this is a link to the forum guidelines for your information, it outlines what is appropriate/not appropriate to ask for on this forum
  19. the post for that control will be very similar to that of a standard fanuc post...maybe start there
  20. No Problem Robert, glad I could help!
  21. Yeah, I will usually use slice, unless there is a hex or something that needs to be milled, then i will use spin to get the maximum diameter of the hex
  22. Ok Cool, Thanks very much for your replies! There are a couple of semi work related topics in the OT forum that I would like to have appear in new content:)
  23. Hi Everyone, Off topic posts are not showing up in my new content forum feed...I've checked in the filter by forum button and display all is active. I can view off topic content through the forums menu. Anyone got any ideas? Brendan
  24. try turning it to 0.001 and see if that makes a difference
  25. What is your tool tolerance set to in the verify paramenters page?
