    Bad Timing

None here either. I have a harder time getting a $10.00 3/32 e.m. as for V9. It was upgraded with my new computer before I said anything!
  2. I've actually tried to do that also. I just ended up extruding half (or what section you need to see) the part. And supress or delete the extrude when finished. In SW in a section view, SW won't recongnize the edge features. By cutting the part, I get geometry for analization.
  3. Maby I don't have the years some of you fella's do...... quote: after 20 yrs of Fanuc code and then seeing Heid practically annihilate it with there idea of gcode, just not a happy camper when I have to deal with it. I have pulled my hair out getting our post to work for our 5 axis floormill in conversational. Its just not on my list of controls to buy thats all. no matter what I still got 3 of em to post code for. to that.
  4. With minimal info.... Maby try extracting the suface from the solid, instead of making a surface into a solid?
  5. I would create everything in MC........The problem I encounter in MC is: when you have complete assemblies, (cavities, cores, slides) MC files start to get too big and just opening a file could take up lots of time. I have been creating everything in Solid Works, and bring it into MC for my toolpaths, I definitly like drawing in MC over SW. For creation of Cavities cores and slides it is easier for me to keep track of files and updates in solid works. Here where I work now I have to cut my own stuff. I have created many of molds in wireframes and surfaces though. Sometimes depending on the mold it easier in MC. To each his own.
  6. That may be a good option to have in a future V of MC. I have a difficult time keeping 1 V. from crashing yet alone 2. I run a pretty up to date computer, I can have multiple assembly-part-drawings files in Solidworks with no problem. If only MC had a similar option.
  7. Scot, I'm not sure what you are asking....I have experience with a Heidenhain control. On a DMG (Dekel Maho) though.
  8. I feel this one......... quote: Here is an updated parasolid that you are currently working on,please contact us
  9. quote: Can we also talk about tag team championship scrabble?
  10. Well Cad-CamUK, I have some experience with the TNC 430 heidenhain controls also. I was running a 2002 Dekel Maho with this control. The number seq, sounds like a Mastercam thing, on the first page of parameters, in the start seq # imput: 0, # inc.: 1...... the feed rate.? never heard of it. I learned a lot with surfaces. This one would'nt read any arcs in other planes. almost all my surfaces had to be linear. It would'nt helix into parts. I got through a lot of it though. Best thing to do trade it for a Seimens control! e-mail me if you have any questions.
  11. What the heck......Here goes nothing: Spindle:150 R.P.M. Feed/rev: .008 matl removal: 7(cubed)/min Diameter: 8.750 @ start diameter: 8.350 @ finish
  12. Here at the shop, I'm running a pretty up to date computer. With V9 some complex surface pockets take time to crunch. I noticed a difference when I run a 'flowline', V8 usually crunches them rather fast........V9 with the same geometry has taken forever, I usually abort the op, and run individual surfaces.
  13. I am all about staying up to date with new and evolving software......I believe thats the only way to stay on top of this industry. In building plastic injection molds, 95% of my work is actually quite complex 3d cutting, although not 5 axis, It is very involved just getting cavity, core, and mulitple pulls (slides) cut. 'Sometimes takes days to program.' A verification engine that I can build my confidence in my cut, to run all day/night I'm all for it. cause unfortunitally I don't get a setup piece.....I like the way it's headed 'MCU' just needs some tunning. I rely on 'verify' day in and day out. I just can't get 'MCU' to be as consistant as I need it to be before I make a cut. My computer is up to date and runs well. So editing and adjusting a multiple axis move, and locating a gouge in the middle of two intersecting surfaces translated through .IGES from one of our Engineers. I think It's quite cool some of the capabilities, If I could only get some of the configurations to save. I would use it as much as I use 'Post'..........
  14. Does anyone know how to adjust the graphics for the Metacut Utilities? This interface is quite cool....When I run a program, the tools somtimes gouge all over the part. I run it through ol' faithful (Mastercam Verify) it cuts just fine. The Meta cut says "Use the graphical interface map of the help system" I can't find it.
  15. What's to happen if one downloads bootleg software, goes to their shop, posts a program some glitch somewhere-somehow and 'Crashhhhhh'? Something beyond your control. Your local dealer needs the profits from purchased software to accelerate up and comming versions to improve my progressing Shop. I support my local M.C. dealer.
  16. Depending on the complexity of the solid. M.C. leaves a lot of goemetry in 'blank' (Screen_Blank_Unblank) so when moving the Solid M.C. duplicates the geometry to the new location.
