  1. quote: We just expierenced my first one a small one the ground shook for about 2 seconds. I live 20 mins from Northridge. Ive been here my whole life. Only thing that scares me more than RattleSnakes! quote: Are you it wasn't one of those Haas spindles letting go at 15K RPM ?? OUCH! We had a pull chuck snap at the threads running 7000 R.P.M.'s. It cost my boss almost $10,000 and two days of machining time! It was a disaster: 11 x 12 mold insert, vise, spindle....
  2. What happened.......Everyone was on a roll! I have to agree with some of the politics involved with the Lakers. There are some things the Lakers get taken for i.e. "Hack a shaq". I've seen the guy put his hands in the air not even defensivly and get fouled. They can take advantage of the fact he's a big guy! The little spiff with Medvadenko in the last game. That was fuel to a fire. I admit these guys want the championship bad........A better team????? Shaq's shooting better free throws than Dude with Big Hair!
  3. quote: James, start boarding up all the windows and have the LA fire dept. on standby! ? The Lakers are gonna win!.......It's stratigic basketball.
  4. quote: Please don't use scale for trodes because you get different spark gaps. Search this forum for proper way. I think I was trying to figure out what the question was *extracting a boolean* using *cavity*. My bad.......... Actually I deal with molds, I use the part file (with shrink) most of the time I can extract geometry for the electrode. I like to offset the diameter of the tool for spark gap. Because O.D and I.D. the cut will be the gap I need. I know there are some cool features for making electrodes. I never was fortunate enough to have any I always had to make my own files.
  5. It's one of those things we all have to suffer through.......For the benefit of our (American's)protection. i.e. Taking a flight somewhere. Something that use to take (minus the flight time) about an hour. now takes a half a day just getting through the airport It's something we all have to endure for our safety, so some religious, terriost, xxxx does'nt do another 9/11!
  6. In assembly, you could try a cavity.....adjust the scale factor to get the proper spark gap. Send me a file if you want.
  7. quote: The proper order and tool option for extracting an electrode in solidworks Using 2004 sp3. Are you wanting to know how to create an electrode?
  8. Maby top of stock - use incramental. *with caution*!
  9. I just retried running the set-up.dll again, all kinds of alarms........ Ohhhhhh well.
  10. Steve, I just e-mailed you........Thanx I will try the link.
  11. I'm running XP.......I got the e-mail for the update I thought I ran it correctly. I can't seem to find the update anymore on MC website. I did'nt do something right!
  12. With SW 2003, I am able to open .prt files (through -converter-parasolid) 2004 I can't open a .prt file. I've been converting files to parasolid, which makes twice as many files as I need.
  13. Sorry to hear about your loss......
  14. quote: Most users ever online was 7 on Tue Apr 20, 2004 5:05 am Are you saying there's more than 7?
  15. For steels I usually never go past 300 R.P.M.'s. I also never go too deep 1/2 .500 or so. For aluminum I was playing with that the other day, I was running 2000 R.P.M. Building molds I tend to be conservitive with certin operations. A friend of mine programs production, It's unbelivable some of the numbers you can run without breaking a tap. There also running form tools that drill-tap-c'sink-c'bore all in one tool/opp! Some machine companies are running that peck tap routine that's cool.
  16. That's funny you guys should talk about this today.......Yesterday we were roughing out a piece of 17-4 ss. We were using a 1.00 R.P.F. (kennametal). A rep from Mitsubishi hands us a cutter and says here is a 1.00 (similar cutter, able to use 4 sides of the inserts by inverting the two). After we rough down the 2 parts that are behind schedule. We find out the rep gave us 1.046 inserts and scrapped our cavities.
  17. You could try this hopefully this works. Adjust parameters as wanted according to your set-up. ftp://mastercam:[email protected]/Ma..._files/BOX1.MC9
  18. You can either attach the file to my e-mail adress or you can copy the file and I can grab it from here.... ftp://mastercam:[email protected]/Ma...orum/MC9_files/
  19. Well Bob......If you e-mail the file to me I will see if I can help you. Without looking at the file, exactly what you are trying to accomplish is quite difficult.
  20. +1000 for always hooking up your c-hooks....I think I use my mmouse.dll about 5-6 thousand times a day, and a couple others quite often.
  21. quote: How about shutting the door B4 the coolant turns on. This happens to me at least 3 time a day. (For all the Beta Testers) That ought to be a parameter in MC. Automatic door closer!
  22. Hope that lung biopsy goes well......and the results are without cancer!
