If I have to hit the E-Stop while the machine is running, it's too late, or the spindle has already gone thru the table and is penetrating the cement floor. +1
I got into that habit for a while. On some 'ol school Mori's, part of the shut down procedures was to hit the E-stop. I guess you had to release the hydrolics. After a while with the hydrolics under pressure would blow the seals. One morning you show up and there's a big puddle of hydrolic fluid on the floor. With these new machines I think it releases the prsseure from the pumps when you hit the power button. I did it for years up until recently!
Mold100. How do you like that Fadal for Molds. I never liked Fadal (or the controls). We are running all Haas here. I also heard Fadal was gonna file for 'Hitachi Seiki' if business does'nt pick up!
Cancel that......Your e-mail adress is'nt working or my e-mail....
If you can figure a way for me to get that file to you let me know. I have a cool 3D model with some twists and the Haas logo extruded out of it.
( I think I was bored that day!

i worked thou the part in mc (1/2 hour) and pro-e(about an hour)<< still learning<< didnt run into to many problems. Now, how do you cut it?
My bad I misunderstood the question. What is the question?
I agree with HardMill and Mold 100.......It's difficult to believe.

2 flute TiAln 9800 rpms about 70 ipms to finish with air.
It took me countless late nights and lots of broken EndMills. On hardened tools (A2 56+ rw) we rough out the cavity, after heat treat instead of making an electrode, its right to finish. I tend to be more conservative on the feed. The cavities look like a mirror with minimal polishing. (trillions of variables of course: size of cavity, endmill diameter, endmill length, part hardness, how much sleep I had, If I'm fighting with lady, car running good.......)
I like MasterCAM for cutting
SolidWorks for CAD
Personally, I like AutoCad for prints.....Solid works has some cool associative updating for changing the print to the model. Sometimes it isn't as user friendly as Autocad. (i.e.) You may see the edge of a part, SW recongnizes that as a siloutte and you have to section or BS the thing around just to grab a number! That blows sometimes........
That's a tough one Mold100, I would think......If your not running arcs (your filter) the post would give you linear (or point to point).
The guys from barefoot or cnc software would know?
Were running a 2005 VF1 with the reinshaw probe

As a side note, Renishaw doesn't like G91 G28 Z0. and neither does the apps guy at my Haas dealer; they advocate the G90 G53 Z0. approach
We were running G49 G28 Z0
The mold maker who runs our machine seems to like it.
The quick programming macros.......He's pretty proficint in MasterCam, I think he just draws it up. I like some of the things you can do with the macros. If a machinist wants to bore jaws, pocket W/o bothering the programmer etc.
Maby adjust your step over a bit 'Greater' .002 .003 (just to see if it stops generating pecks). go from there. I rarely get a perfect path with contour.
I'd try high speed and play with the ramp motion (distance and angle). I have a difficult time with contour also when it works the surfaces come out bitchen! (maby scallop?)
I'd rather work in China building molds for a bowel of rice a day. Worst case you become anorexic (how ever you spell it). At least you don't have to worry about some suicide bomber or getting shot on your way to work!
