steve that looks like what i want but it's not working right. that puts the origin on the wrong side of the part. i want my facing tool to go from right to left. it keeps going from left to right

I've been trying to setup the machine def for our vtl. If you are standing in front of the machine with the door open the turret is on the upper right. This means D+ on the monitor to the right. I have tried changing some things around in the machine def that came with mcx but the D+ keeps pointing to the left. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

I think I'm going to make it. Another associate here was suposed to register me and i wont know till tonight if he did.

thanks for the reply Roger. I'm running x mr1. I have noticed it only happens with 2 of our lathes the rest i can import operations no problem. I can export operations on all the machines. Does this make any sence?

I was laid off for a couple of months. now i'm back and starting to get back in the swing of things I was tring to import a tool path and got the following message. SETUP ERROR failed to load resources from resource file please check your setup. I have never seen this and am not sure what it means. since i've been back all my files and mapping are a mess I'm wondering if someone could have changed somthing. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what we have. I know we have programmable g codes. We bought this machine used and I am taking things 1 step at a time. With alot of help with the post I can finally program the machine with mastercam now I would like to figure this out. We have one guy who is good with macros but he works a different shift and doesn't do anything with the lathe dept and don't want to mess with this without me there. I requested to spend a couple days with him on this shift but was denied. The machine is a 5 axis lathe and we turn alot of parts where dim's are given to a theoretical sharp and this tool would take alot of guessing out of what we are doing (1 deg taper with no flat area to get a good reading). Is there a place to get some info on the macro programming? how to get probe to put dim's to a offset? or should I contact renishaw or mori? Thanks for all your help

I am triing to figure out how the reinshaw probe that cam with our machine works. I was wondering if someone could give me an example of a macro that touchs a o.d. and writes the dim to a offset. thanks.

yep Thad i'm still here. They handed me my layoff papers and took them back 3 hours later. They realized they never trained anyone to do my job. So they laid off everone up to me. I'm the next one out the door. Rumor has it the hammer falls again a week from Friday. I'm just sitting back waiting to see what happens. The one thing I can tell you is it really sucks wondering if your going to be laid off from week to week. Thanks for the replys.

When i merge a file with the one i am working on it comes in red and stays red. If I analize the entities it says it's a different color but it's still red . It only happens on one of the computers on our network. the others computers it works fine. I have a geforce2 graphics card with 32mb. running open gl(default). any suggestions? Thanx.

is it possible to convert a whole folder including sub folders from .mc9 to x or do i have to open up each drawing 1 at a time?
