  1. I started having the same problem. I was thinking it was from the new pc i have. The printer is a hp lazerjet 5000N. the old computer printed no problem.

    ug vr. mc

thanks gcode i thought i had seen them also and couldn't find them but i didn't have a whole lot of time for researce because there was a 11:00 meeting as to why we need both ug and mc. hopfully things go well

    ug vr. mc

Thanks for the replys hopefully they will help
  4. I just got asked why we need both mc and ug. management wants to get rid of mc (at least thats how they made it sound to me). I know nothing about ug it is used by the enginering dept. I do know I need some good arguments to support mc. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Chris, sorry to hear about the accident. My thoughts and prays for a speedy recovery.
  6. I have always defined my stock and havn't had this problem either
  7. Rob, thats kind of what I was starting to think. The Macros that we do have were given to me by a friend. we bought the machine used and there were only a couple macros in it. I am assuming they got rid of what they didn't use. I do have some renishaw stuff but it's all for haas machining centers so I am assuming that is all different.
  8. Ron I havn't even tryed setting up my drill cycles to run the probe yet. I have just been editing the programs by hand. the macros I have in the machine are as follows. 9018 Auto Measuring Cycle 9049 Probe Calibration (A06) 9051 3 Point center (A06) 9052 Sensor Check (A06) 9053 Average & Min.Max & stdevp (A06) 9058 Work Offset Set 9060 Circle (A06) 9061 Point (A06) 9063 Width (A06) These are all I have. When the machine was purchased all the macros got whiped out. These are the only ones I have been able to come up with at this point.
  9. I tried calling the Dia. a width also but no luck. any Ideas?
  10. Just a thought do you think maybe a "C Axis" probing routine would work?
  11. Rob i'm not sure if it's a renishaw macro or a mori macro. according to the notes i have from mori P9018 is for Circle measurement. I am not sure what you mean by " All of my B90.0 macros have a value of 200 less than B0.0" . The measurement is just a O.D. which is not that big of a deal I'm just tring to get a better understanding of what I can do. The Q vale specifies the range of measurement when measureing a arc (not full circle) or for measuring a circle where where the measureable range is limited. I am going to try your change and see if that helps. Thanks for the reply
  12. I have just started playing with the reinshaw probe again and have what is probably a stupid question. If I have the turret rotated B-90. I have no problem checking O.D.'s and I.D.'s. For the job I want to use it on now I am using a tailstock so I wanted to have my B axis at B0 and I can't seem to get it to work. This is what the command line looks like "G65 P9018 D1.0045 Q180. I.05 Z1.0045 F1.7 H3." Any ideas would be appreciated.
  13. just wondering what is "M1" and "S1" represent? on all our machines M1 is opt stop
  14. I asked about the same thing a while back the only differance was all the operators want to swithch to m04 and management didn't care so I did it for them. This is what is was called if you want to do a search for it. Topic: O/T "Lathe Spindle Directions" I would have set it up as a link but I am not sure how
  15. for basic 2d turning work I do like Trevor said and just pick the lines straight from the solid. The only thing I ever have to do with the model is position it where I want it. hth
  16. Thanks again Ron this makes perfect sense. I’m going to give it a try right now. Once again you are a wealth of knowledge.
  17. Thanks Ron that is exactly what I want. The question I have is how did you create the construction plan in the wcs? Did you need to select the line thru the hole and the edge of the circle?
  18. Ron thanks for the help. that will work just fine I was just wondering how you would do it cocking the b axis 13 degress and doing it. The only reason i wanted to do it that way is because we have only worked at b-90 and b0 after having the machine 2 years i figured i would try somthing different manly tring to learn somthing new. thanks for all your help.
  19. I put a file on the ftp site called baxis it's in the MCX2_Files folder. what I am tring to do is turn the b axis on the lathe (which i have never done ) to the proper angle and just cut the chamfer on the holes. I think I am haveing a problem creating the proper construction plain. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  20. to change i&k to r in your machine groups click on the file box then the edit box then contol def at the top.and on the right side you will see arc as 1 of the choices. just chance the arc center type to rad. hth
  21. ok it's been about 15 years since ran a mori with a yasnac on it but for some reason this rings a bell. instead of using "x" and "z" moves maybe you need to use "u" & "w" moves. on newer machines this is incremental. i can't remember if the yasnac look at incremental moves this way or with G91. but it's worth a try.
  22. Jerry you will have toi change your post back to where it was originally for that to work. to change the post from i&k there are some questions at the beginnig of the post and it should be in there. I'll look when i get home. hth
