i have a part i need to surf cut the face of on our nakamara lathe but am not sure how. i was going to upload it on the ftp site but can't but i can email it. if someone could give me some ideas of how to do it let me know and i will email you a copy of the model. thanks in advance.
for some reason i can't load the part on the ftp site. I cant even past a pic of it on here to give anyone a idea of what i am triing to do. anyone have any ideas?
Hi all, I just started a new job and after not using mc for about a year I guess I forgot more than I thought. What I want to do is a helix mill in the side of a sphere on a lathe. It has x,y,z,c capabilities. the z position is -.125 and y is .470 I want to feed down in the x. I am not sure if it is a post issue or me. The machine is a Nakamara 300 we are using mcx hopefully I will be able to get them to upgrade but I have to prove I can do this. The hole is .085 dia. I tried putting part on the ftp site but was not allowed which has never been a problem for me in the past.
Kannon,
I don't have start at center checked.
Gcode,
I understand that will work but this is for a tosheba boring mill and I am tring to get the gode to look like what the operators are used to looking at.
ex.
N100 G0 G90 X-3.821 Y-26.5 S1069 M3
N110 G43 H31 Z.25
N120 Z.1
N130 G1 Z-.04 F1.07
N140 G3 X-3.821 Y-26.5 I-1.179 J0.
N150 G1 Z.1
N160 G0 Z.25
i have tried changing in both places. and of course i broke the #1 rule of backing up my original info now when it outputs arcs it is just using I's and J's without the x and y
I am sure this is a easy fix but for some reason it has me stumped. when i use circle mill i want my program to do the complete circle in 1 line using x y i j right now it is breaking the arc's. I have tried making changes in the control def but when i post the program I don't see any changes.
I was wondering how difficult it would be to get the post to out put my code like this
N100 G0 G90 X-20.75 Y-13.75 S1528 M3
N110 G43 H317 Z.25
N120 Z.1
N130 G1 Z0. F24.45
N140 G3 X-19.25 I.75 J0. K-.04 L88
vs.
long hand. the machine does not have much memory and the operators seem to like this better.
the k moves the "Z" in .04 per rev and it is loping that line 88 times. thanks for the help.
tim this is what i currently have.
#Move comment (pound) to output colon with program numbers
fmt O 7 progno #Program number
#fmt ":" 7 progno #Program number
fmt O 7 main_prg_no #Program number
#fmt ":" 7 main_prg_no #Program number
fmt O 7 sub_prg_no #Program number
#fmt ":" 7 sub_prg_no #Program number
i got it to work again for me. I had my shortcut looking at my config. but in config start/exit it was looking at default. don't make sence to me why that would affect printing but when i made them the same all is well
