I think what gcode was trying to say is click on planes at the bottom of the screen than click on lathe diameter than click on x+ z+.
It sounds like you have x- z+ selected
you could try changing
g01 x0 y0 f20.;
to
g98 g01 x0 y0 f20.
i know on a fanuc you have to change it from inchs a rev to inchs a min if the chuck is not on.

moving to nc is not out of the question yet. my wife started packing when i suggested it but i'm not sure yet. i figured i would take a look at trying somthing here first.
A former co-worker and I have been talking about starting our own shop. We want to specialize in turning work. Getting the equipment or the floor space shouldn't be an issue the big question is where to get the work? I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. We are not sure yet if we really want to make a go of it or not with the current economic state here in Michigan but It’s not even worth considering if we can't figure out how to get some work. Thanks for any input in advance.
I saw some information a while back on being able to post a nc program and a setup sheet at the same time. for some reason i cant find the info on how to do it now that i have time to play with it. any help will be appreciated
I just wanted to update everyone. The part should be done by morning. without the help from everyone it would have been another week at the way i was going about it. thanks for all the help
it's 2 flute hihelix and we have been sticking it out a little more at a time (about .400 increments) we started out breaking them so where down 2 1000 rpm 10. ipm and .01 doc which seems very slow thats why i'm asking
i am roughing with a .250 carbide ballnose endmill in aluminum. we are not that experianced with aluminum mostly just tool steels around here. I have to stick it out 3 inchs. i don't know the manufacturer it's just some cutters the boss dug up from some where. any suggestions will be appreciated.
