All I want to do is compare a scaned laser part that is a STL model against the Inventor model. Do I need to do it through the verifier?

Can you import an outside STL file and compare it to a imported STEP file in MasterCam.

Posting out to the MasterCam editor I like to save as all Files with no extension of any kind. xxxx.nc or xxx.cnc for example.the files I save do not hae extensions. When you go to pull down the save as file type I always use all files. Now I can't do that anymore with the new MasterCam editor. I went to use the Cimco editor and always says "nethasp not found". So the only editor that works for me is the PFE 32 which is really old style editor. Can you point me in the right direction to get the other 2 editors working? Thanks in advance.

We are getting a TL-2 and are debating whether to get a tool post or a turret, We are a prototype shop with buil quanities never get above 20 and most common is 1 - 5 pieces. What are your opinions. Thanks in advance.

We are looking into purchasing a TL2 Haas Lathe for our prototyping \ model shop. Would like to get some feedback from the industry on how you like or dislike this machine. Thanks in advance

K2csq7, Looks like you may be talking about an 5 axis post? I'm currently not using a five axis post so th misc intergers are not factored in at this point. Is it pretty envolved to create an mi4 and mi5 for the initial primary and initial secondary?

I would like to force the A axis to post out A-90 instead of A270. I have clearance issues and would like to be able to prevent the post from posting out A270 to keep the rotary form going “under” and crashing. Is this possible?

Just want to know if it is my mouse or somthing else. I work with big models both Solids and Surfaces. It happens more with surfaces than with solids. When I hover the cursor over a line or even a surface it will not highlight until I get it just right. Most time I need to go back and forth several times to get the line to highlight. Seems that I have not always had this problem. Is it my mouse or MasterCam?

Gcode, changing the background color and then save and close set it back worked like a charm. Thanks

Okay I see it now, the text is almost the same as the background color. No wonder I was missing it. Is there a way to change the text color? Thanks!!

Am I missing something here? Is there a way to see what WCS C & T planes that are active without opening the WCS manager. This would be a big help while programming 4 - 5 axis work.

My mistake was I put the G49 on the same line as the G28 and it over traveled in Z. Move the G49 to the next line all by itself like everyones suggestion and it worked. Thanks a bunch guys!!!

Here is what my code looks like at the end. G0 z-.0399 Z.25 G5.1Q0 G91 G28 Z0. M9 G30 X0 y0 M30 I guess I'm not using a G49. Should I insert it between the Z.25 and G5.1Q0 lines?

Using a Fanuc 18-i and using the high speed feature G5.1Q1 at the begining of the operation and at end of operation I use G5.1Q0 and it will not change tools, it alarms out before it can change the tool. What do I need to do to get past this. thanks in advance

In the mach Sim I have to re-load all windows that I need to see. IE, Move list, Axis control, Report, and Statistics windows do not stay on Screen. Go to do another sim cut and I have to bring all the windows back beofre I start. Is there anyway that I can lock them into perferred positions so I don't have to re-load every time? Thanks in advance.

I finally got it to work, had to delete the tool and then start all over. Not sure what happened but not feeling really comfortable with it.

Yes I did, I even started all over, deleted the Operation and reattached the tool again and get same error. This custom tool is real simple and have been using this tool since X2.

The error says, Tool Diameter and corner radius do not match valuse stored in operation (edit operation and reselect tool) Here again it worked this morning on X6 and now will not work in X6 MU1.

I have a custom tool that worked great in X6, then loaded X6 MU1 and now it does not work. I get the attached error now. I went to unistall MU1 so I can continue toprgram with this tool and it looks like there is no uninstall for MU1. Warning.bmp

Looks like a flat boundry, one of 2 ways, Create->Surface->Fill holes, Or Create-> Surface-> Flat boundry. You may need to create curves for the second option.

When I use Helix interpolation in HPCC it gives me an planer error. If I go back to line ot line it works. But will do helical arcs when not in HPCC. Control is a Fanuc 18i with CAPS Mori Sieki add on.
