Mostly set up and operate Integrex 300Y. Running many legacy Mazatrol programs. Almost all new programs are G code.
Some manual machining required on Bridgeports and small lathes.
Solid lathe and milling background required.
MC lathe/mill background big plus.

Glass grinds pretty OK with diamond tools and ordinary coolant. Think slow.
Can't help with granite. But I wouldn't take it for brass.

What kind of integrex is THAT big?
What you seek to do is possible, but I agree with Iskander to use a touch probe to set tool length.
If you use one tool, a ball ended shaft works, as a standard of arbitrary length, you can then touch that standard off on any new part setup and have a macro set G54, G55... and leave the individual tool length offsets alone. This method works whether you have the probe that Iskander mentioned, or an off machine device.
Anything is better than touching off each tool on a new setup and redoing each offset for each job.

Think Flinstones pet.
dinoracer goes to the pet store and says "this dino has blisters on his feet, I want a new one." The store owner looks at the little dino, and sure enough, it's feet were severly blistered. The owner wanting to keep the customer happy hands over a new dino, and dinoracer runs out of the store.
Walking home that afternoon, the store owner sees a group of boys playing with their HotWheels cars, or at least that's what he assumed as he saw the boys tearing around making motor noises, Vroom, vvVVVrooommmm, pushing something, on their two knees and one hand... Suddenly he recognizes one of the boys
Welcome to the forum dude Hope that was OK. an old joke suddenly popped into my head
Edit: Oops, I see you've been around a lot longer than me Hi, I'm Harry.
I rough at angles to break chips when ever possible. Think funnel shape boring. Works on OD as well. 15 degrees is enough. This is one of the most useful features in MC lathe
Vac Melt does seem tougher and harder to chip break than regular 304.
For high speed steel drilling I use 53 surface feet.
Chris, "funnel rough" and dump the M0s. You'll love it.
10 IPM is the common choice simply because it's much easier to assign that feedrate and calculate RPM, than it is to calculate RPM based on cutting speed then calculate feed rate. Pure math lazyness.
So what do you call it when MC does all the work and they still don't want to go with the right numbers?
Sounds like darned good accuracy to me.
Can the Ballbar guys check those parameters at speed? One would think that the values would have to be different at higher G's.
You might be getting to a point where the law could be on your side. We had the mandatory diversity training a couple years ago, and there's a pretty low threshold for the amount of personal crap that one needs to endure at work. If mention of hostile work environment doesn't get your boss's attention, then the law is very likely on your side.
I'll see it soon. Trying to avoid previews now. The previews I have seen were great.
If anyone wants to talk after seeing it, don't hesitate to drop a note. Don't worry about spoiling the movie for me, I know the story already. [email protected]
