  1. March maintence does away with all previous patches, does it not? If there were any patch problems, March maint, would negate need to reinstall patches in order, right?
  2. Tool library setup tool tool angle gives B axis setting.
  3. Integrex with B axis is one option. A stick tool in a standard turret lathe with a cranked blade is another. One of my jobs coming up has some dovetailed O ring grooves. I'll be setting B axis +- 24 degrees for that one and programmed it by chaining the groove. The blinky lights (backplot) look good. Can't wait to see the part.
  4. If he wants to stand on his company's toes while the rest of us run ahead... let him. As soon as the economy improves enough to find a smarter boss, do so. Welcome to the forum!
  5. Been a machinist for 29 years. All materials, lots of different machines, manual and CNC. Have studied most of the core math, physics, and mechanics of a BSME. Sixteen months with MC mill 3 + solids + lathe. Still an intermediate MC user. Currently programming and running a Mazak Integrex. Training a sharp new old dude. Might get another machine. Sorry to hear about the reduction. We've been through that here. It looks like the bosses are beginning to value us again. Experience counts. If you like doing this, find what jobs you can and never miss a chance to learn more. (I'm assuming you're a young engineer.) The degree will be a good thing. Too many machinists don't understand mechanics of deformable bodies at any level and make setup errors because of that. The degree didn't teach you how to machine. Listen to the old dudes for that.
  6. Shatza, what kind of vacuum systems do you make? We do MBE and MOCVD here. I'm stuck in here and can't breathe smiley.
  7. Like in MIB, a bug just squashed my truck
  8. Um... That will be perfect for us. Can we get that hole in KM63?
  9. Looking for one here now with KM63 socket. I'll be checking Fowler.
  10. Matt Quarles is due for an Avatar too. The enigma is pretty cool. What CNC dude can't appreciate that piece of work?
  11. Hey Matt, take a field trip over here for a bit.
  12. quote: to aid in getting it printed might be to trim down I agree with this. It's content is great, but it's a bit wordy.
  13. quote: do you have some special meal? Ham and turkey are common favorites here in the US midwest for an Easter meal. Families often have a large meal anywhere between noon and six PM and hang out together many hours eating leftovers and deserts. No menu of particular religious significance on par with your unleavened bread.
  14. Is he using an early integrex? Dave's post is pretty sweet.
  15. Pretty cool Andres. Thank you for your dedicated work on behalf of your students. They are fortunate to have such a teacher. When I first started in machining, two of the best other young machininsts I met shared the same high school shop teacher. He clearly taught his students well. It matters.
  16. You're worthy Tim. Only thing Barefoot's got that Prototek hasn't got is a potty on the porch... And a Southern Belle.
  17. Having today off was a pleasant surpise that I got yesterday morning. Sounds like I'm not the only one checking in on the forum from home. Happy Easter indeed! If anyone wants to talk about the "Reason for the season" send me an email.
  18. DO10 N10 Edit code, Push Green Button Doh! END10
  19. quote: Absolutly Bitchen Thread !!!!1 Bitchin is so harsh Kathy. Us SCUM, that's Sensitive, Caring, Urban, Males, prefer to think of it as "working through" a temporary chocolate deficiency. The thread will be fine after it finishes off about a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
  20. quote: 1 new forum member to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again This goofy thread deserves to be dug back up now'n then.
  21. Hey Murlin. Does this new job offer protection from the Texas summer sun? Maybe you can get this guy to drop by once in a while to make you feel at home in the forging die shop again.
  22. This auction has been viewed almost 75,000 times. It's a cult classic. They say that about movies that become popular beyond all expectations, right. I give this auction two thumbs WAY up. Very funny.
