  1. Highest regards to well spoken and respectful authors.
  2. Oh yeah! That's the stuff. +2
  3. Never helped a soul here, never will, but soon very soon the post post endorphins will kick in...
  4. Are you talking about live tool tapping or main spindle tapping?
  5. quote: two DIFFERENT issues I'm well able to distinguish between the two. My point is that whether Bush is pro-active or re-active, criticism is constant. I just wish the critics would pick a side and stay with it.
  6. Please note what is happening in the news today. George Bush is being simultaneously critisized for not acting to prevent 9-11, and acting without sufficient evidence in Iraq.
  7. So far-so-good on staying respectful. Let's stay the course.
  8. Hey Hardmill, why appologize for starting something? The forum is about knowledge. In this installment we get an insight into the creative genious of the crackhead. As an added benefit, our favorite crackhead becomes the forum equivalent of a cigarette butt in a urinal, everyone can push him around with the yellow stream without fear of damaging a relationship with a valuable member. Bring it on crackhead! You know you can't stop. We'll just keep you on the phone till The Man shows up. Tell us how dumb we are. And impotent too. Besides you aren't smart enough to actually do the cracking, are you. You're just dumb enough to brag about it. Show us some code. That's what the REAL programmers do around here to prove they're not just windbags.
  9. quote: the Magic eight ball is old technology Remember the Happy Fun Ball ads on SNL? Funny thread Scott. Thanks. Happy Weekend all! It's 52F here Might get Victory out
  10. Li'l sissy machinist needs the forklift guy to deliver C clamps right to the table!
  11. Hey Eyeore! How much fertilizer will a $1000 worth of hay make? Harryman, shoulda been a farmer.
  12. Make sure the boss is not the cause of the disfunction. You can't fix him.
  13. On the Integrex with 640 Fusion control, we use a PCMCIA network card for hooking the Mazak to the LAN. Then file transfers are drag'n drop. For the cost of some blue wire and a hub I say hook'em up if you can.
  14. Sharp tools are very important with bronze. Watch the surface speed. Bronze is not brass just because it looks like brass. Arbor runout is BAD. You want all teeth to cut or you might as well use a fly cutter. Whether you make or buy the arbor, get it running as true as possible. HTH
  15. I sorta made my own. Sewing maching motor. Steel strap twisted into a propeller and held to the motor by die cut threads. Wire from ceiling to suport the cross beam. And for a speed control? An ice cream pail lid with an 1/8 inch of copper sulfate solution... The closer you bring the wires, the faster the motor runs. It was the juice can lid saw blade that got me though
  16. Sorry David, I'm no help at all on posts. We bought our post from Dave Thompson and I'm all but helpless to tinker with it. At least spring is comming... Right?
  17. Are you trying to side cut (swarf) or end cut (facemill)?
  18. Set Cplane and Tplane to TOP and try again. Yes, set Rotation Type to Y and leave Rotary Axis checked.
  19. quote: if i use top T/plane and c/plane mastercam backplots correctly but the tool is in the top not at the back and this doesn't put in a C axis rotation. Could it be a post thing? For me, machining done on Top Cplane posts code positioning Caxis to 90 Degrees, as it should in my opinion. Does your post output C zero degrees for work done on Back AND Top Cplane/Tplane?
  20. Rekd Teh dusting old posts for grammar prints?
  21. Sorry David, my last post was BS, about rotating. It works when starting from the side Cplane and rotating about Z but I couldn't find a way to rotate Cplanes the way you need to. This is the technique that you need to use if you have a part feature on the face (side Cplane) and need to align it(in C) with the X machine axis to reach it due to machine travel limit issues. EDIT: I need to experiment more with those rotation features. Lathe guy is right. If you want to machine on multiple faces (various C axis positions) with X axis tool approach (tool pointing to chip pan) you need to use a different Cplane/Tplane for each face, and my personal experience is that the best way to set them is to select geometry rather than names.
  22. Ok, Try starting from Cplane Back, Click on Cplane then select rotate aboput Z axis 90 degrees and see what you get. I can't try it at home and I haven't tried this at work. Just a thought. It works well rotating the Cplane about Z when staring from Side Cplane. The Tplane has to also be independently changed to match the Cplane. Just set it to the same # that appears when you save the Cplane.
  23. David, if you set Cplane to Top and do Cross drilling, what angle does C axis go to? Sorry to post a question and then run away but it's geting late here. Clarification will help someone else help you too. G'night.
