  1. I had to replace the keyboard on the machine a couple years ago and had to remove the drive then. It's just a laptop hard drive, encased in a shock absorbing holder. The IT guy copied the drive. One of these days, I want to copy it again, just to get a current image, Ghost to a new drive, and actually fire it up with the new drive. I don't want to find out what kind of hassle it would be to start over from a new Mitsubishi drive. FYI last time I checked, they cost $750 for the preloaded hard drive. I keep lots of programs in the C:T_Machine Programs file. A mixture of Mazatrol and .EIA. I've never tried to run a program from the "unlimited" part of the hard drive. If the hard drive size is limited to 2 gigs, that could be trouble. Where could you find a new one that small anymore. I think I'll crank up the priority on Ghosting a new drive and trying it.
  2. I might be wrong, but I think that capacity is limited by the CNC side of things.
  3. We are just in the process of purchasing such a mod from Dave Thompson. If you're not in this project for the fun, you might want to shoot it past him through your reseller.
  4. quote: right amount of smooge Yeah, you don't want to mess up the Smooge calculations.
  5. This is absolutely a case where a macro should be used. The macro can be as simple or complex as needed to address the ever-changing Beer/Cuba libra/Part valuation ratios. There's just no substitute for doing the math and getting accurate results
  6. Check is in the mail Winnie. If the dongle simulator is really good I'll send you one of my bar pullers. It takes all shapes and sizes right off the rack and shoves it in there but good. (Harryman not liable for your insurance underwriter's actions if he finds out about it)
  7. Does the strain of cutting tend to magnetize this material? Why doesn't demagnatizing work?
  8. Not bashing you pip. I'm running an Integrex here, and I just believe I'd be way ahead if I'd started Mastercaming sooner. The machine can do many things that Mazatrol can't. That's my advice to anyone that asks. The CAM system can write very useful moves that can't be translated into Mazatrol units, unless those moves get output as Manual Process units, in which case you might as well go with G code. If you're programming a part at the machine and Mazatrol can do it, then go for it.
  9. Simple operations + simple operators = Mazatrol All other events = G code Why muffle CAM system capability with Mazabaggage? If I could turn the clock back I'd only invest enough effort into Mazatrol to turn soft jaws.
  10. Outsource? Darned straight! I'll bet I can go to the nearest McDonalds and find a Hamburger U graduate that can fire manufacturing personel that he doesn't understand as well as our current management for far less cost. Lets go baby! Outsource the Boss!
  11. I found that my home system perked up alot after I ran Adaware the first time and "picked the ticks" (malware) off. Thanks Iskander and Bullines 128 does seem low. Shhh, (Don't tell Iskander or Bullines)I have 256 meg shared RAM (on board video) at home and it's not enough for XP.
  12. Are you running Adaware or something similar? Many ticks make an anemic dog.
  13. Whoda thought this could get hijacked into a humor thread Great story again Jack.
  14. Did someone say Setup Sheet? The In-House Setup Sheet for Mill/Turn has been tested pretty well and works sweet for Integrex, though not by me for sub-spindle.
  15. On a UN series thread, the flat at the top and bottom of the thread is .125 x pitch, right? I'm not sure but I think it's pretty similar for metrics. If your thread mill has a pointy tooth form, that could easily account for why you needed to bump the diameter out a bit more than you expected.
  16. quote: It's no more valid I think that Mark is distinguishing himself from persons left of center that might think the rest of the question WAS valid. Peace
  17. RStuart is another forum dude that you might ask.
  18. Howdy Travis. Sorry for slow response, had to keep nose to grindstone today. I don't have a sub-spindle so I can't help with that. Search for Rookie1 send him an email, and see if he has a sample. Is your post doing everything you need?
  19. Welcome TBrucke. Please say what your machine and control are so the right forum dudes can weight in. Jimmy's so on top of things, fat chance anyone else has to help you before he does.
  20. Will aluminum work? That expanded metal lath for ceramic tile work is cheap and flexible and rather small mesh. Greg, check out the movie Birdcage, before installing anything pink, purple, or mesh to the Ivory Tower. It might be less risky to steal the bosses LCD tube.
  21. Windup... And the pitch... Harryman fires a blazing molotov of controversy into the most non-controvertial thread ever. Baseball on bat: CRACK! Not PtING!
  22. 15-5 stainless is magnetic, can be hardened a bit, grinds ok and can be welded.
