  1. Hi, After use of flatsurf.dll in most cases you must use map.dll to map curves from original surface to new one. This works only with surface curves. After this you can use con2spl.dll to convert surface curves to splines. I wish that helps.
  2. Hello ,Bryan314. A lot of thanks ! That`s really cool!!! I will try today !!
  3. Hello ,All! I want to add a menu in MC design 8.1.1 . HoW to add a C-Hook for example in the free space in the menu is not a problem. But what about menu? I want to do something like this: In design8.txt : [Main] menu 1 {"Main Menu:", "&Analyze", "&Create", "&File", "&Modify", "&Xform", "&Delete", "&Screen", "S&olids","&Hooks", ""} [Hooks] menu 1 {"Hooks:", "&Colrsurf*", "F&ilchain*", "&LAYOUT*", "&Flatsrf*", "Co&n2spl*", "&map*", "&Thelix*", "&Spiral*","",""} This does'n work . If I am not wrong were to put [Hooks] ? And what do I miss ? Iskander
  4. Hi ,Allan ! Thank you a lot. Worked like charm. I hadn`t know about parameter to check in const.prm .That`s why I`ve got spline all the time. A lot of thanks to all you guys for your answers. Iskander.
  5. Hello ,Cadcam! I am talking about an actual surface curve. If you run the flatsrf C-Hook you will get only the outer conture of the surface and to get the inner one you must use C-Hook map ,which works only with real surface curves not NURBS splines, nor parametric splines or lines and arcs. You are right: "Create" "Curve" "Project" is o.k.and slice and partline also but may be you know about the simple way to built the surface curve from stretch. The client gives you surfaces and how can you build the surface curve without intersection or project? May be with some C-Hook ? To convert surface curve to spline there is con2spl C-hook ,but may be some reverse C-Hook. BTW what is a geometric representation for surface curve ? Iskander.
  6. Hi , All! My name is Alex and I am using Mastercam from ver 5.5 ,from ver7 in the everyday manner. Here in Israel Cimatron is dominant and I am on permanent fight to stay with Mastercam . Cimatron is very powerful program but for me Mas- tercam simply rocks! I am working at moulds production never ruined no job ,never had a job that I was not able to do, and I am the self-educated user. Masrercam RuLeZ !!!
  7. Hi, Mick! I use Mastercam Solid mostly for drawing . It is not a Solidworks, but for a lot of things it is enough ,it is simple and powerful. But for most of time in milling I use surfaces. It is more simple ,safer and stable. BTW ,you can always produce surfaces from solid : Create-surface-from solid . Iskander.
  8. Hi ,All! It may be strange , but I want to find the easy way to draw the surface curve ,cause I need it for the map C-Hook . The only way I found was to create-curve-intersect and in options to check surface curve. It is not an easy way. May be somebody knows another ,more easy one? Regards, Iskander.
  9. HI , all ! This is how I do this as an everyday task . Let me say you want electrode less -0.2 from model . 1.First of all run your 3d jobs as regular offset-0.2 2.Then screen level you can copy your problem surfaces (the ones with radius 0 or stuff like this to the next level) 3.Now analize surface test normals to them 4.now change your active color and level to other one. 5. Now Create Surface offset make sure that dispose is K you put -0.2 or 0.2 to your offset it doesn`t matter if you wrong you will see it afterwards (remember we changed color) 6. if you need you do now some surface trimming on the new surfaces . 7. You can mill them with 3d surface toolpath with end mill tool with offset 0. That`s all . Mastercam RULEZ ! Alex aka Iskander, [email protected]
