  1. I'm using a Hyundai Mill/Turn post. I am not sure if this was set up by the dealer or if it was originally selected as is. The thing is, will the mplmaster have the proper code for this lathe? EDIT - Just tried the mplmaster post and it was the same, still not outputting the info I need.
  2. Hey guys, I am trying to set the lathes up for posting out the exact tool information. Its a Lathe with Live tooling. Hyundai WIA L400LMC. What I am trying to accomplish is for the post to output the Tool Holder name and the insert name along with the "Tool name" we designate. Example we have a large and small OD rougher tool, so of course for selecting the tool, I'd like the program to output that name(which it does), however it doesn't output the Tool Holder and Insert name/grade. I have it set in the parameters but not sure if this is a post mod or a switch somewhere in X6.
  3. OMG, I see what I did, lol. I almost don't want to say it. I was selecting single instead of multiple. Oh man, something so simple. Thanks alot Jeremy.
  4. Ok I looked at the file Jeremy. By the way I originally DID use dynamic restmill. This is my whole point to the thread, to be able to pick multiple holes with one operation instead of separate ones. For some reason if I select them all, I get only one machined. Yours worked because you have different size holes. Make them the same and try to run the same toolpath. Gf8er I see what you did. makes sense to just adjust the radius'. Thanks guys.
  5. I have X6, I can't open that
  6. I tried. It will only grab one as the way it works is it automatically takes the (biggest or smallest, can't remember) contour as the cut area and since they are all the same size, it only ends up doing one. Even if they were different sizes, it would still grab only one. Same with a dynamic area type toopath. You can have a bunch of islands and you can select them all and it automatically takes the first selection as cut and the rest of the selections are automatically avoidance. Something similar to that anyway, I may not be explaining it correctly.
  7. Ok I tried the rough circle mill and it looks fine except it cuts from the middle so I end up cutting air until it reaches where the hole was drilled. Now I didn't see anywhere but does it allow me to specify the pilot hole somewhere so it doesn't cut air? Eg I'm using a 1/2" endmill. The hole is 1" and the counterbore is 1.75". When I do the circle mill rough, it cuts air until it gets to the 1" diameter.
  8. I do not want to use helical boring. Too much pressure on the tips of the endmill. Hence why I like to use the dynamic restmill. Now as for GF8er's suggestion, I have not tried that. Would that not plunge radially every multipass? You say it spirals out? I'll have to give that a shot.
  9. You mean with multiple passes? Doesn't seem like the right path to do. There would be too much stop time vs the restmill path which is continuous. Keep in mind I am not taking all the width with one cut.
  10. Hi Guys, I have lots of parts that have counterbored holes and I like using the dynamic rest mill to do the counterbore after I drill the hole. Here's the thing. I have 17 holes that need a counterbore so I drill them all one operation, but then I have to individually do each hole with a separate operation. I copy the operation but then I have to go adjust each one for the proper hole. (Make sense?) Can I somehow select them all (every counterbore) as one operation?
  11. I get that sometimes. I just hold enter till they run out.
  12. Ohhhhh, I thought you had SW. I was not suggesting to buy a seat of SW. This is not a Mastercam issue as far as I know, its the original SW file. In otherwords the SW file that is hosted may be missing something.
  13. That book is $65.00 You are aware of that right? Have you updated your SW yet? Go to help, check for updates As I said, I was getting same issues. I did an update and it fixed it.
  14. I was getting that same error a little while ago. I just updated my SW's and its been fine since.
  15. I had this issue before. I was cutting on a lathe though but what I did was create multiple finish passes with retracting to a point rather then a distance. I needed it to retract to an absolute position but like yours, it was retracting incremental. You could probably do the same thing on a mill.
  16. Yup, core enters from outside the part. Area will stay within the boundry.
  17. That has nothing to do with it Thad. I too have libraries set up for each material and each type of cut like yourself. When copying a toolpath eg spot drill then change the copied tool for a normal drill, the speed and feed of the normal drill(whiuch is set in my library) does not update when lock feedrates is selected. In other words it ignores the speeds and feeds you have set in your library. The OP mentioned that already in his 2nd post.
  18. Thanks for that as well. I know exactly what Doug is talking about. I always thought it was just a bug of some sort. Never really asked about it. Glad I read this topic.
  19. Core usually starts outside the material. Try area instead. The helix path will work then.
  20. Ya Crazy said the same thing. he just made a zip2go.
  21. +1 to peelmill. I love that toolpath and use it as much as I can. For this part I basically drew a staircase from the right side view, translated it to my length and peel milled the required steps for roughing. Works a treat and removes all the material promptly. On another note, I like the way the radius is split in the sample you provided Crazy. I used it and will use it from now on to control the climb milling. Some stuff is so simple you wonder why we machined the other way for so long, lol. Thanks again.
