I would go into Excel and use "Fill series" function, then copy/paste into Mastercam "Create Letters" and use the drafting options to control line spacing and such. But not sure if Mastercam do not have some kinda cool little script for that kind of stuff.
well it does give you a warning every time you regen, so if YOU delete the chain and YOU ignore the warning when using regen, then.........dude, you are on your own
gcode, when you get around to it..........question, are you setting it up by dragging and dropping through the 3DConnexion module inside Solidworks? that works for me.
Hm.. you might want to try to contact 3dconnexion, because this issue was solved for at least a handful of users by downloading a new driver within the 1st week of the product being on the street.
Steve, I agree that having the "fastmode" would be nice, but I think if they had left it all the good post guys would just stick with that, and apparently they need a lot of feedback on how to make the debugger functional or maybe it is just procrastination.
Phil, sorry that didn't work
I think that CNC Software made the right decision getting the post debugger in there, sure I sometime miss "fastmode" and I had hoped seeing a bigger improvement from X3 to X4, but if CNC Software will but some serious efforts into getting the debugger to work at a more acceptable level it would be a huge improvement.
Good to hear from you also Phil I thought things ran good with new service packs for Vista. Have you tried reinstalling X4 or contacted your reseller or [email protected]?
What kind of system do you use? I thought I was 1 step above a $20 calculator from Walmart and the post debugger have never crashed my system. I am 90% sure that there is no way around the debugger, I believe CNC Software wrote that on the forum at some point.
I like the new tree format compared to the old style. The old style felt like a lot of clutter with check boxes and tap menus. For new users it is really great that the pictures in the menu interact with some of your choices, like Lead in/Lead out and like entry on pockets.
I do find it comical that if you go to the toolpath drop down menu there is a contour and a pocket icon, when you do end up in the same tree menu (it is the same with drill and circle mill). There is some bugs in X4 that suddenly need to be fixed, but I am not considering going back to X3 that is for sure.
Cory R., that issue is most likely a easy fix and you never see that again. Contact your reseller and let that maintenance fee do some work for you :-)
Not sure exactly what you are trying to accomplish, because you can do a lot in the view manager. But here is a dirty tutorial.
1)Rotate part on the screen to your desired view using Gview-Dynamic
2)Press Gview button on left menu bar
3)Click "Named" on left menu bar
4)Right click in white area of the view manager
5)Create...
6)Copy current view
7)Name it JAMMAN and press ok button
Now the view should be saved with your file, and at anytime you can click Gview on the left menu=>Named and double click JAMMAN and your custom view should display.
Let me know how you make out.
HTH
Lars
Right click in the white area of the view manager and create it.
If you press "Help"button in the lower right corner of the view manager you will find a lot of good information.
If what you want is your Mastercam post not to output G98/99 it can be done. However if you are not familiar with post modification I would not recommend that your 1st experiment is to edit stuff that has to do with your retracts. I would consult my reseller if I was you.
Customizable codes with the machine control normally includes that you link it with a macro program or something. Like if you had a tool probe installed on your machine you could assign M100 to activate it to check for broken tools.
Can you feed the machine from a PCMCIA card or hook up a workstation with a RS cable? Have you looked into macro programing and sub programs?,You can kind of controlling the size of your programs by the amount of data you put into each operation when creating toolpath in Mastercam.
