Are you sure about that? You may be able to break a line on an angle, but not the angle from what I see. You can create an opposite line from the angle legs and break that, then redraw the legs.
Yes, they are correct. In fact, I would not call that a problem. I would call it a feature. Keep in mind that the Okuma is the most powerful control on the planet. I usually make my initial approach to turn on comp 180 from my planned cut direction and then take a 90deg turn before finally entering my desired cut direction. Kind of like a u-turn with sharp corners. Other companies like Mazak have been trying to copy the Okuma capabilities for years. Fanuc, however, just does not care what you end up with. I often wonder why people buy lathes with Fanuc controls, or Mori, for that matter.
If I go to a mechanic and tell him "something wrong, fix it", and don't give him ANY pertinent information he is going to look at me like I am an F'in id10t. Well, guess what.
i LOVE these posters that feed you 1 piece of information at a time. Here are things we need to know pertaining to this:
What control?
Mill / lathe?
What are you trying to accomplish?
Are you getting the wrong code when posting? Or, is this irrelevant to your code and you just want to know what it means?
You are machining undersized when you rough the center with an end mill. Rough the center leaving stock on left/right/bottom. Then 1 pass each side with the Dove. We never cut to size. Tolerance on the tool grind is usually more than the tolerance on the groove. We get tools from ABtools. Beautiful finish.
Good to know. Unfortunately, I have never used Creo. I have, however, worked in a shop that used both NX and MC. They started with MC, but brought in NX for their more complicated stuff that MC could not handle. I should give CREO a try if you think it is better.
A shift for G73? Maybe you mean G76. If this is a fanuc control the Q variable is used to specify the distance backs away from the wall of the hole before retracting after the cut. The direction is controlled by parameters 5101 b4/5.
Yes. Whenever I think about you the first word that comes into my head is humble. LOL. Is any cam software perfect? NX is the closest you will find to fulfilling your dreams. Glad I got you to ask.
THAT is the attitude to which I refer. That attitude is well known throughout the internet. Thank you for proving my point MC-can-do-no-wrong. That is what I love most about you.
Perhaps the reason people are shoving NX down your throat is because some people, who shall remain shameless, act as if MC has no equal and no fault. The pomp@ss attitude here is what needs to be corrected. I will not try to explain the MASSIVE benefits NX has over MC to someone who has never used both. However, I will jump on the anti-mastercam-is-so-f'in-awsome wagon whenever the MC-can-do-no-wrong people pop up. I almost think these people are trying to get a free seat of MC by spending all day UNDER the MC desk. To me it is night and day the differences between MC and NX. Anyone who has used NX would never trick themselves into not believing it. Do I think MC is a good package? Sure, because there are so many worse (*cough* surfcam). And, I like the direction MC is headed. Not so long ago it seemed as if MC was headed nowhere. That has changed. As a previous poster stated, he thought MC was the best, until he tried something else.
So, for all of you people that think that the world ends at MC, I would strongly suggest you try the student versions of NX, Catia, Delcam and the like. Or, just watch all of the helpful videos on Youtube and see what they can do. If you are an MC pro you will immediately notice the benefits of knowing multiple softwares.
