Hi all!
I have a new PC here and I am now having trouble sending programs out from the CIMCO editor.
I can not remember the settings I had with the old PC. I know the baud rates are correct it is everything else I am not sure of.
See attachments for my current settings.
Thanks for any help
Mike
I am self taught in Solidworks with some help from our sheetmetal engineers.
I design all my fixturing in Solidworks. Make nice detailed drawings and give to the tool room to build the fixtures.
Thinking it would be triple the time to get the same results out of Mcam.
Hi all!
I did a little searching and did not find alot of info with my isuue.
Why when I copy some toolpaths from 1 machine group to another my tool lenght offsets and diameter offsets change?
I want them all to stay the same. I need to proof every posted program to make sure they match! I never had to do this before X5?
Also when I go into edit a tool after coppying, my holder length and holder dia are "0"
Any ideas?
Thanks
Mike
Hi all
Smooth transition to X5 so far! The only problem I am having is getting my .nc files to post to the network.
I mapped it to the proper location in system config but it just wants to post to my C drive.
Any ideas

Not sure if I asked this right. I want to import a few ops from another part that is very similar. I do this all the time but I always have to right click in ops manager-import(sorce folder is always Cmcamxmillops) I want the sorce folder to be a network drive where all my part files are.
Hi all
Can I map to where I want to import ops from? Always defaults to C/mill/ops. Can it be mapped to a network drive like .mcx and .nc files can?
Thanks
Mike
Hi All
I'm roughing some slots with a 2d swept toolpath. I have done this many of times but this is the first in X4. I am using a 1/4 flat endmill and my tool will not cut to depth. It is staying .125 away from finished depth. I have tried with both tip and center comp with the same result. Just wanna know if i'm missing something simple or a bug?
Thanks
Mike
I let mcam sit while trying to open it and it finally opened after 10 min. This is the first time I brought it in to X3 MU. I saved the file closed mcam then opened it again and it still took about 10 min. File size is 24,000kb. It never took this long to open
John
Yes still .MCX
When I try and open it I get
"Warning file contains 1 entity in the graphics screen background color"
But I get this with other files as well and have know trouble opening those
Hi gang!
Does anyone know of a way I can save a file that will not open? I made the mistake of renaming it in explorer and now it will not open in mcam.
The part comes up on my screen and some toolpaths then just sits there and will not open.
Any ideas?

That did the trick. I moved the file dated 06/20/08 to a temp file...did the "Repair" and a new one dated 09/18/08 was installed. Files open fine now.
Thanks for all the help
Mike
One thing I noticed here is that all the SW2009 part files I try to open to not have the image next to the part#. All part#'s saved prior to 2009 have the part image next to the part#. Not sure if this helps any just something i noticed
