  2. Hello I have done a search and could not find the awnser but can someone tell me how to get a G83 for peck drilling on a fanuc post fot a old haas lathe?
  3. is that for v9.2? i didnt see that page. I think it only has 2 pages.
  4. I was using a 1/4-18 NPT threadmill in some Nitronic 50 material and i was breaking threadmills. To make a long story short what i needed to do was to make several passes with the threadmill to avoid the tool from breaking. Is there a way to get mastercam to do this automatically? i had to keep adjusting the tool dia and reload the program to get this done.
  5. i think Mastercam versions before 10 always run slower because the processor is at 100 percent of usage. This slows down the entire computer. Version 10 doesnt do this so maybe a upgrade will help?
  6. i tried to do this and it will work the first time but everytime you reload the fixture you have to level it by cutting it or shimming it and it turns into a pain.
  7. Thank you for your replies. I will give them a try as i feel 4 weeks from J&L is too long.
  8. I need to get a reamer with a diameter of .893 multiflute. J&l industrial wants 140.00 each which isnt bad but they are asking for a 4 week leadtime anybody have a better place to get this reamer?
  9. oh and i did use a 3/4 endmill and the finish was better but not as good as i wanted so i will try the .005 left for a finish pass.
  10. I use a 4 inch and a 6 inch diameter flycutter and the surface looks good. I was using a 1/8 dia 3 flute carbide endmill with 50% cutting on a Fadal 4020. The reasom i used a 1/8 is that is what the part required in one of its corners. Thank you all for the input and i will see if i can get a fly and clamp it in the vice and let you know how it goes!
  11. When i try to mill a surface flat it always gets lines in it it is not flat. I get it flat with a fly cutter but not a endmill. I am milling Acetal plastic and i was using a 1/8 diameter 3 flute carbide endmill. I was running 5000rpm and a feedrate of 30 inches a minute. Is there a way to get a flat finish from a endmill?
  12. In Addition how does it perform? any issues?
  13. is anybody using a Pentium D 820 processor to run mastercam 9.1?
  14. I get this message and i restart mastercam then it works
  15. I did a program using models and the final file size after i ran Ram Saver is almost 12 mb. Is there a way to reduce the file size? I would like to leave it in model form so i dont want to convert it to surfaces.
  16. When i threadmill NPT threads i use all the threads on the tool. For example our 1/4-18 NPT threadmill has 11 teeth and is .500 long so i go in the part .5 and make the threads. I use all the teeth on the threadmill as the depth.
  17. It would be helpful if it did reverse. Thank you for the reply.
  18. Lets say i have 4 vices on a fadal pallet changing machine each vice is labeled e1 thru e4. If i drill a hole on each part sterting at e1 and ending up on e4. after drilling i need to chamfer the hole so mastercam wants to start at e1 but i would like to know if there is a way to get mastercam to count backwards and start at e4 and end up on e1. Has anybody done this?
  19. We have rods and hex bars of both material in the shop. is there a way to tell them apart? like nitronic weighs more? nitronic is harder so we could use a rockwell gauge? Any ideas?
  20. yep v9. It worked great Thank you both!
  21. is there a easy way to delete a tool from the tool library?
