  1. Hi i'm just cutting the inside profile they outside is made by the cavity and the cores are held in by the top plate. The undercut is actually made by a lip on the cavity top. The outer part of the under cut is on the core side of the plates. I set the ucs also and did a slice but the geo. was a pain to chain. Alot of trimming required. Thanks for the help on this i appreiciate it.
  2. I put a file (3000_opt1) on the ftp site in the mc9 folder and would like to have some of you pros take a look and see what method you use on something like this to get a cross-section and geometry for this part, say to turn on a lathe. Any thoughts or suggestion would be great. I think i have what i need on this but it took me some work and time to get and i know there must be better ways. Thanks in advance Gary
  3. +1 to Millman. Good tip James, I was just trying to find something like this yesterday. I ended up trimming with a line when all i needed was to show a cross section of a model.
  4. Man some of you guys are working studs. I thought i was busy but not so sure anymore. Well i'm on the way out the door hunting. Back in later and it will be making detail prints rest of day. 6. Mastercam does have alot cheaper packages out thier if all that is needed is 2-d stuff and you can still machine and draw from 3-d parts. All in what you doa to make the moola.
  7. This one looks safe enough Just saying hi and thats its time to get back out in the woods for me. DEER OPENER AND NO DEER YET
  8. Hi I have also used the intersections between the surfaces to rotate them flat with each other. Also if you set your surface as the current graffics view them translate them between views with a copy to say the top plane you will have them flat and true size and shape. The only draw back with that is that the surfaces will have to be drug and rotated into proper orintation with each other. Hard ways but it gets it done.
  9. All we can do is hope that Chinese prices go up as Japan's did. They are very comparable with us price and quality now. Maybe, (for our sakes) China will do the same at least to some percent.

I have played football and many the other ball sports at competitive levels and cycling is the most demanding i have seen. We can all say those drugs is why they are good. I say bs you and i can take all the drugs in the world and would still get are @#2 whooped. So i say give the guys some credit they earn it drugs or not.
  17. yeah the error pops up on the pc and the os is windows 98. Machine has no way of storing programs except for a cassette plug-in so i have and old $%# pc to hook to it but i may have to try different one if it don't work.
  18. I just got an old prototrac plus bridgeport 2 axis and cannot get it to comunicate with mc. I did a search but did not fing the fix. I set everything acourding to the manuals but an error pops up (error initializing com1) Any help would be greatly appreciated and could someone please explain what port does each of the connections in the back off the pc represent. Thanks in advance Gary
  19. Sorry for not getting back sooner. I had to get alot parts out. Engineers calling every 1/2 hour. I did end up redrawing the surface and that fixed the problem. Also did not no about the period in the program name but it makes sense. Learn something new everyday hear. Shop i am at now only has level 2 mc and i am used to level 3 so i am now VERY limited on surface tool path options. I thought i could at least use all the surface optiions but on only one surface at a time but i guess not. I guess its time to start the begging again. But anyways thanks for the help as always Gary
