  1. in that case i would try maybe a really short cable and a laptop right at the machine as a last resort. Is there any consistancy with the problem happening like certain time of day or certain things going on in the shop?
  2. has the machine always had this problem? ...... i would try to narrow down the problem to either the pc or the cable or the machine
  3. Dan your right it should be off but i have also seen it need to be on but turned down all the way (just another suggestion) .......... also your first post said you tried changing the cables how long are your cables? and are they shielded? or running close to lighting like Jim said earlier ?
  4. Does the question about the block look ahead mean the the buffer suggestion did not fix the problem Dan ?

  6. FIFO buffers are on your pc they are listed under the advanced settings for that com port
  7. did you try adjusting or shuting of your FIFO buffers?
  8. project the toolpaths down to the surface and just leave the letters straight it will surface machine them all to the same depth
  9. the surface finish project tool path work i just was not doing it correctly and hardmill saved my butt

  11. i tried that tool path and all i get is the outline how do i get it to machine an actual pocket on that surface
  12. Mr M i tried that but my chains are not 2d they are 3d and i did not see a place to cut a 3d pocket along a surface
  13. I am looking to machine letters that i have projected onto a surface but i want to machine them as pockets with a ball endmill and not just engrave them but i cannot figure out how to do that and help would be appreciated also i can email you the file if toy want to take a crack at it

  18. Just select a different tool and when you post it the tool change codes will be in the program, unless i am not getting the question

    When i did mold work we always used to buy from PCS Company they have very good quality bases
  20. I have to finish a 1.5 inch deep pocket with straight walls and with an angle on the bottom and i have to use a .250 ball endmill to finish the bottom and sides. I am not sure what toolpath would be best to use to finish this pocket, any ideas would be great
  21. Are all the patches translaters and add-ons in the big download or do you have to download all that separately ?
  22. for some reason i cant seem to figure out were to set this to be off by default ........... i am sure i am just missing the obvious any help would be great
