  1. drewgh20, Works good here. Thanks again In-House Solutions!
  2. Scott, Using the Select Only dialog box and masking a level did not work for me either. Ken, Did this work on your daily version of MR1?
  3. Qmp, Welcome to the Forum! I will take a stab at it for ya. In the Drill Point Selection dialog box select the Entities button. Now select the Only button on the General Selection ribbon bar. This will open the Select Only dialog box where you can set masks for selecting entities. After you have set your mask click the Maintain Only Mask checkbox. Now you can go back to the Drill Point Selection dialog box and use Mask on Arc to select your holes.
  4. George, I know you can turn off Learning mode prompts and Tool tips, but I don't believe you can turn off function prompt windows. The prompt window always appears in the last position in which you placed it. Maybe you could leave a blank area in the upper section of the interface with the toolbars, and drag and drop all of the prompts to this area.
  5. Would someone please post a linky to these files. I recieve my newsletters at work and can't seem to find the latest issue on Mastercam's web site.
  6. Reece, There was a Topic recently posted by CNCme concerning the same problem. I did not see a response from CNC Software. quote: Posted by CNCme (Member # 3272) Good ev'nin , When I open an mcx file created on system (1)then open the same file on system (2) (This file was writen to a CD on system 1 then opened from the CD on system 2 + both using Latest SP1),it opens fine. I try to regen any operation and I get "parameter is not correct" error. If I save the file on the 2nd systems hard drive and re-open it, it works normal. I havent been able to pin-point the incorrect parameter. Tony G Posted by gcode (Member # 192) I'm just guessing, but I'll bet the system is trying to write to the file and can't because is on a read-only disk (the CD). Do any experiment. Save a file to the hard drive and check out its propeties. Regen and check them again. If the "last accessed properiy is newer, the system is writing to the filename during Regen. Another experiment... change the attributes of a file on a hard disk to read-only and try to regen. If I'm right, you'll get the same error as you got with the CD file. If that's the case, you can't Regen a file that's stored on a read-only disk. If you can't regen a read-only file, X should putting out a better error message than "parameter not correct" Posted by CNCme (Member # 3272) Good ev'nin , GC, You were right on, the CD writer must have been writing read-only. I saved it on a flash memory and it worked fine...can I change the way the CD/DVD saves read-only?? Tony G Posted by Tommy Dorgan from Standard Router (Member # 5210) I don't think so Tony. All of my cd's that I burn have read only properties when I copy them to my hard drive. Posted by CNCme (Member # 3272) Good Mornin', These conditions work: 1. File can be copied from disk then opened . 2. File can be opened from read-only, then "save as" to the hard drive and re-opened. Does not work: Open from read-only disk, then during use of file it can not write back to a CD. As Gcode quoted: I'm just guessing, but I'll bet the system is trying to write to the file and can't because is on a read-only disk (the CD). The CD can not accept write data from Mastercam. Tony G I hope you guys don't mind that I brought this over.
  7. Roger, We were begging for this months ago. I remember the response as, "we feel the mouse wheel zoom replaces the old F2 function and have no plans on bringing it over to X." If we really want this feature back, everyone on the Forum needs to let QC know with an email!
  8. Some one from Cnc Software please put a stop to this madness!
  9. Dave, I believe they are referring to Version 9's Unzoom to previous view function. This is the one function I miss the most. We program large parts and even though I love the mouse wheel zoom, it just is not the same.
  10. Thanks Ken, Downloaded the .exe file with Update Manager and installed with no problems!
  11. Chip, If you have only used one view during your Mastercam session, a message will appear stating that no previous view exists. If this is not happening, I have seen a problem when I select the Named Views function and close the View Selection dialog box with out selecting a view, the Previous View function seems to lose it’s memory. Or maybe you are thinking that the Previous View function should work like Version 9’s Unzoom (F2) to previous view, which I must say is my MOST missed feature.
  12. KMI, Have you tried the STLHEAL C-Hook in V9? This program cured some of the problems with STL files, but not all.
  13. Bill, You could try the, "Advanced Settings Utility for MouseWare 9.76 and above", Version 1.1.0.1-1/22/2004. This utility allows you to adjust mouse behavior in some applications like games and CAD. This program solved a few problems I was having when I first installed my Logitech MX510. You can find it under Downloads on Logitech's web site.
  14. Jim, I believe that Analyze-Surfaces-Curvature was removed.
  15. simoneau, In the Vector section of the Analyze dynamic dialog box, type a length in the Length field (the white box), a longer length will give you a bigger arrow for viewing.
  16. Paul, I read your post last night, and even though I have not had this situation arise, I just wanted to come back and thank you for that excellent explanation. We appreciate the 20 minutes you gave to all of us!
  17. Joel, Thank you for the work-around.
  18. JBowman, I selected color #255 and customized it to Red=1, Green=1, Blue=1. Looks just like black.
  19. Johnny, Try changing your background to a different color and see if your lines come back when you print.
  20. Johnney, What are you using for your Graphics background?
  21. If you are using a solid black #0 graphics background color, try changing it to another color. This solved my missing geometry problem. I selected color #255 and customized it to Red=1, Green=1, Blue=1. Looks just like black.
  22. John13, Holding the [shift] key down while pressing a field's shortcut key hard-locks that field.
