  1. rest mill is usually follows previous operation, but if you want to change it turn off the stock /rest switch, go to the toolpath control tab change it and then turn on the rest mill under stock
  2. Not the best solution, but if the model allows use scallop instead there is a switch go in/out site. Hybrid doesn't have it.
  3. If you changing the rad of the tool , might be better to programme with Tip compensation to center not the tip of the tool
  4. You have to open the editor from Mastercam.From main menu go to file edit then click on Editor and select MC Edit, if you trying to open from Windows you will get the message
  5. Open the file with NC Editor (it is supplied with MC) go to nc utils and Scale the nc prog.
  6. the editor also can do it.Go to transmission on the menu ,DNC setup, setup, baud rate, can go up to 256000. Hope this helps George
  7. Did you try create/surface/trim_extend/fill holes
  8. convert the parametric spline to NURBS and then apply the contour with cutter comp. off
  9. Hi Jeff, if you want to use Rough op. in Lathe for grooving be sure that under Rough parameters in the op. plunge parameters are set correct to allow plunge hope this helps George
  10. maybe your grid is turned on try Alt+G and uncheck visible grid hope this helps George
  11. Under Finish contour parameters use Cut_depths
  12. In XP you can use James tip , instead access the DOS though Mastercam go to File, Next menu, Dos shell and type the same command line :ren c:filepath*.mc7 *.mc8 George
  13. Hi Larry, most of the dealers are offering update training, I thing this is good way to start save time and headaches regards George
  14. You can use Flow5ax ,works well on shape like this
  15. also you can use xform/scale to adjust the size of the letters and keep the associativety between toolpath and geometry George
