Well there you go Bill. Most use wear as it gives you full control at the machine to make size adjustments. With wear you can also have quite small lead ins and lead outs.
Not to beat the dead horse....well OK to beat the dead horse. It looks like the lathe package is once front and foremost in Mastercam's development department.
Thanks for making it easier and easier to go to the boss and explain why maintenance is a good use of company money.
The silence from lather is deafening.
I am trying to convert a NURBS spline into lines and arcs using simplify. I get the message "No splines were converted". Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? This is a spline that was created using the "create" "turn profile" feature.
Thanks.
Buck30, using the Manual Entry tab allows the program stop to be part of the mastercam file that will be included each time you post the gode. This way you don't have to remember to edit the code.
Thanks go out to Ajmer and John.
We got it going with your guys help. It's funny how easy it is to do when you know that you're doing. I was trying to do a couple rough passes also and had trouble until I set "top of stock" to .125 incremental and then like magic the program knew what I wanted to do.
Thanks Wizzard too. I learn from everyone who tries to help. If your answer doesn't solve the problem at hand it may prevent a problem in the future.
Does anyone have a moment to see what I'm doing wrong? I have a part I want to bevel on the Haas rotary. It's a solid that I have picked up the bevel on but when I back plot there is no rotary movement.
I can email the zip to go file
"What I have always done is save the tool to a level then use it the way I wanted." Ron, by this do you mean you move the tool (insert and holder) do the leading edge is at Z zero and then save it there?
First thing to check is that you have selected inches-per-minute on the tool path parameters page. Also check on the tool parameters page as well.
I am not using X4 but I would think this might still be the issue.
