  1. Move your geometry 1/4 the distance of the circumference distance.... Assuming 3.000" 3 * pi = 9.4248 9.4248/4 = 2.356 Axis sub calculates based on -90 being 0
  2. Since the release of X, I live on the RMB....I go to the ribbon bar for VERY little, as such I haven't done anything with it. Of course at this point I do very little programming with my hands in so many things and management
  3. I'll take that as a no
  4. When I moved our 1 lone seat that had a HASP to a Software license, I had to turn in the HASP...
  5. With the age of the Hasp, it's possible it's dead... I'd check the drivers out first and there is or was anyway, a little app that could tell you for certain if it is dead.. Assuming it is dead for a moment, you possibly could have an issue getting another Hasp. I'm pretty sure they've gone software licenses only...I could be wrong on that but thought during a conversation with my reseller was told Hasps were a thing of the past. Considering the version, it is LONG outdated and no longer supported. I have a Hasp that will run 2019 but at this point it's no longer upgradeable. You might be in a spot
  6. Macdac was purchased by Tri-Mech about 2 years ago, as well Compumachine at the same time... My suspicion is several other resellers will be purchased, though not all and Sandvik will take sales and support in house....I have zero info to base that on just how I think they'll move ahead over the coming years
  7. Steve just left my building....scheduled in for some extended time to get our DNC and NCBase up and running... I was part of the S4A > Cimquest transition.....That was just technical on the business side.....no real early changes to the customer experience except several other AE's and services coming available... From all I have heard, early on, no big changes other then how the business end is handled....currently Cimquest is running as it has....
  8. The specs alone take it away from a gaming rig... If you're doing workstation work, buy a workstation.....if you're gaming, buy a gaming rig... That's just how I approach it...
  9. Recommended spec's here https://www.mastercam.com/support/technical-support/system-requirements/
  10. I didn't think the "Home Edition" was supported for Mastercam... and my feeling on GEForce cards is well known...they work for others, I won't buy a system without a Quadro/RTX card
  11. Our installation of the Cimco DNC and NCBase begins on Wednesday....I have much laid out already but one question I have... I did ask if NCBase would also take our Mastercam files....I was told it would but it's ability to manage them like say PDMWorks could with revision control wasn't possible. The programs & documentation will be stored within NCBase... So my question, is anyone using NCBase to store their current Mastercam files? Thoughts on how it does?
  12. Hi Pete...indeed, longtime...hope all is well on your end

  14. Create your toolpath, then use the chook Arc3d
  15. You have "Point" & "Pass"....Point will take you along an entire Z level of the cut......when you get the top, change Pass so that you can get the points along the next Pass and so on if you have multiple depths of cut
  16. This guy is a shill...of that I have zero doubt now
  17. You do understand that anything that gets "changed" and needs to be updated in the nci file NEEDS to be re-genned, right? If you made those changes and it didn't go dirty, when you posted it the changed info would not be in the nci file.
  18. Make sure you have the rights to edit the files in that directory... Also, if Microsoft One Drive is backing up that directory, turn it off. It will rewrite your file after you change it.
  19. This^^^^^ I have seen ZERO reasons to think anything but....user chose not to establish himself as a legal user and came in and has subsequently posted on how "Mastercam needs to change their algorithm" It smacks of another titles troll account. Of course, I don't expect the "hosts" to do anything...sorry
  20. and that was my understanding, linked, yes...does not actually run the gcode...
  21. Vericut has several available modules as add-ons to just the simulation module, with the simulation you use your actual gcode file. It understands macros and has all kinds of reports you can output. You can add probing, Force optimization, Multi-axis, and several other task specific modules. They have recently begun offering a posting companion with it as well. It can be used across a most, if not all CNC machines. It comes with a high price tag but most consider the "Gold Standard" of machine simulation. Camplete is another title with a great deal of ability and it has offering the posting side of it's product from the very beginning I believe. I don't know about their availability across machines though. It may have changed recently, if so someone may speak to that but when I checked several years back, there was a pretty wide swath of machines they could not even offer for purchase. It's abilities place it at the top of the simulation market. Some machines, Matsuura in particular come with a seat of it. To buy it, it is also somewhat pricey. MachSim....my experience with MachSim is admittedly older but as I was told at the time, it, even when purchasing licensing, doesn't use the actual gcode file...not certain this is still accurate but it was at the time in which I was aware of it...it is somewhat limited in abilities, not sure if it is because of Mastercam itself or limitations from Moduleworks...it is the cheaper of these above noted options, substantially cheaper. Probing, Macros, not sure that can be done beyond it just ignoring the code. There is also NCSimul, ICAM and a newer offering by a company, I believe out of Turkey. I won't speak to any of these as my knowledge is admittedly, little to none. I, for one, do not want my simulation coming from the same program I programmed it with... Pricing I won't get specific, if you really want to know, ask the appropriate vendors...there are many variables that factor into pricing.
