  1. The difference between Vericut, Camplete & Machsim is like comparing a Rolls Royce = Vericut - Price $$$$ Camplete=Bentley - Price $$$ Machsim= Chevrolet (not a Corvette or even a Camaro) - Price = $
  2. Without seeing the geometry it's impossible to say but I wonder if this is something rolled/unroiled geometry could help with...
  3. and Camworks has "Knowledge bases"...is "CAM Assist" better or worse than any other types that already do something very similar? Who knows...certainly not I
  4. The "sales pitch" always sounds good....when the rubber hits the road though is where the truth of the sales pitch will be proven or destroyed... Hell, Mastercam has "Feature Based" machining already...with a bit of upfront work it can be pretty massaged....you'll make toolpath and then have to dig in to clean it up...so from that perspective, I would be leery it's not a whole lot different.
  5. I use the Toolpath Manager settings....have since the inception of "X"....that said, when importing OP's I always end up having to rename them, the tool manager settings don't get applied...new ops created, yup they'll pick it up.;....imported ops, newp
  6. Over the weekend I got a connection ask on LinkedIn from the guy thats seems to be hawking it... Had not even heard of it before...as usual, I am dubious of anything promising a "1 click" solution for manufacturing...but I'll watch, listen & learn and see what it is all about.
  7. Don't hold you breath...but you already knew that
  8. I pointed out where to go upper a couple posts
  9. Upper right corner, the "X"
  10. You just told one of the guys on this forum who is easily the most experienced and willing to teach guy that he doesn't know what he's doing... Perhaps you should contact the Mastercam reseller that your "boss" bought Mastercam from and have them show you how to use it. You chances of getting help here have just gotten on to VERY thin ice.
  11. Go here and register. The official site is best for development questions https://users.mastercam.com/Identity/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2Fconnect%2Fauthorize%2Fcallback%3Fclient_id%3Dmastercam_my%26scope%3Dopenid%20profile%20mymastercam%26redirect_uri%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fmy.mastercam.com%26response_type%3Dcode
  12. \Best guess on the VERY limited information....either you're changing it in the wrong post OR the switch remains but the logic has been skipped over or removed... Maybe go to the Tech Exchange and download a fresh post and see if it works in that
  13. Heck, each HMC has 160 tools and I still find it limiting
  14. A post can only be edited by the poster for a set period of time, after that it can only be edits by Mods, Admins & webby
  15. That will be it's death knell if you ask me.... This company will NOT utilize software that is subscription based.....Autodesk was already dropped...Materialise is about to hit the curb...if a perpetual license isn't available it won't be here.
  16. Oh and another highlight...if you crash or close Mastercam over the Remote Desktop connection, I don't "think" you can restart it... I haven't tried in a long time but that used to be the case
  17. Yes but if the session is actually running on the remote machine, it's behavior will be odd or bad... Best is to run it on your local system in front of you and only pull the license off of the network. Remote desktop is a BRUTAL way to have to program
  18. Something tells me he's looking to create Tenon and mortise style features.... Of course for welding, I wouldn't attempt it...
  19. One thing that is a good practice is after installing the program, run it once, that's what it takes to set the registry settings...lack of that "could" be preventing the upgrade as the installation is technically incomplete As good practice, I do it after each update as well.
  20. Every system where Mastercam is installed needs to have the patches installed. Mastercam is NOT a network program...it runs locally and for licensing can access either a hard lock(USB) on each computer OR a network license.... You either NetHasp or Software license. I am guessing you have a network software license that really only requires the CodeMeter on the server.
  21. I built a whole section of logic that handles this for me...I have a jump height set in the MR's....on any offset change or rotation I output the jump height... No "Force Tool Change" required.
  22. As I have no need to go backwards, I completely forgot that limit when you're on a software license, as were here.
