East coast people that I know have been saying things are slow. I was at a small shop last night and the owner said things were slow in August and September. Scott, This is a tricky question. We can update the post to run in Router. Heres the issue: Because Router contains functions that are specific to router and did not exist in v5.5 the post will not be able to take advantage of functionality of Router. Without modification. Email me suspect post.

We need more examples You would be amazed how close you can come to getting beatup around here by suggesting that there is a problem in the software without proof. hey mick, Please send files you are having a problem with to Mastercam "[email protected]" or me. Give me a way to duplicate problem. The nice thing about the apps files is they are easy to update. Any bugs found in apps should be reported to [email protected].

kj, I just tried some surface tpaths in v9sp1 xp. Everything seemed ok. Is it a possible post problem? Try different post. May be a problem with mp install for sp1. I have had more than my share of problems with xp home. But this problem would be the same in pro. go to Start All programs Accessories ...compatability wizard blah, blah, blah, next choose from list Masercam9 set xp to emulate win2k when running *.exe (mill9.exe)file. see if this helps.

The Machinist Union saved my life. How do you guys like Unions on labor day. Ever work for a big place 20,000+ and the forman tells you to clean a tank with some unkown chemical in it. You quit or say no and he's got 19,999 more disposable pawns. While working in a Union Shop I was given free new shoes to replace shoes that I had been wearing that may have been contaminated by PCB's from presses. If it wasn't a union shop and it was cost effective the company would have cut off my feet. I am also lazy and stupid so it really works for me. Isn't anyone going to say anything about racial bias in unions?

maybe the error message doesn't say "hasp file not found". It could say hasp not found and customer could have had a hard time copying the error message correctly. If thats the case his dealer may need to step in and explain how to install Mastercam. I get calls all the time from people who say they are INSTALLING Mastercam and it says the sims not there. What I find out is they are LAUNCHING Mastercam and getting and error that says "Warning Hasp not found"

Scotty, The first porblem you will encounter is the sim. V5.5 was the last version to run exclusively on green sims (activators). Around the time pII's came out we began finding that the technology of the green sim could not keep up with pcs of this speed. ex: PC looks for the sim...the sim replys to pc...the sim is so slow to reply that pc is doing something else and has determined that the sim is not there. V6 of Mastercam used Hasp sims and this speed issue was a thing of the past. If you somehow get around the sim problem. Communications MAY become a problem as the new pc will be using the latest technology for transmitting data out com port. V5.5 did not have a very sophisticated communication program. chances are good that if they bug you about it and you respond the way you have in this email they will keep it up.(I know I would) Shop work can get boring (70+ hours a week with the same people) and when I was doing it operators would do anything for a diversion. Including tweak a young kid. Some people feel that the ATI card is inadequate. I run an old128 on a 450 with NT on my backup system. I have been doing an informal survey and have found that most people and dealers like the nvidia's. I agree with Jay. I have not tried this card. Anyone out there runnig a gforceti?

I don't want this thread to degenerate to a we hate bill gates thing. Has anyone ran into problems with Xp home unloading the sim driver in v9 after registering The Xp os?
