  2. Eater, I was unable to duplicate your problem based on the information you provided. If you feel this is a bug you should email it to [email protected] Be sure to inlude a FILE and EXACT steps to duplicate problem. I created 2 lines in the top view that had a common end point. I then did a 2dswept tpath using thes 2 lines I selected xform translate all entities between points pick my point to translate from and to then regened tpath with no problem
  3. Scott, I have seen a problem in v8 that sounds similar to what is happening to you. If you go to save a file or get a file and as you are opening the directory the file is in move your mouse sometimes Mastercam will create a series of sub directories with the same name. When this happpens I have found that the file is present somewere so I don't know what could have caused your files to disappear. Take a look at the directories you were saving to and look for a group of subdirectories that all have the same name. The problem of multiple dirs with same name has been fixed in v8. Other than that I don't know what could be causing your problem Greg
  4. programmer who worked on batch option tells me the *.err files are generated if a problem is encountered during batch processing. The *.log files indicate when a batch process was run You can delete these files
  5. Read video card in MC8 posting from the forum. http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000162.html If this is not a solution. Try setting your colors to 256 Greg [This message has been edited by Webmaster (edited 10-10-2000).]
  6. 1.) Communications problem is a bug the fix will be available when 8.1 is released. 2.) Toolpath next menu Thread. 3.) I am unaware of any problem with strecth I tried an example and found that stretch was functioning as I would expect on v8 with an hp650c. Problems that are reported are always addressed. If you find a problem with the software you should report it to your mastercam dealer or forward problem along with all steps to reproduce problem to [email protected]
  7. I would think because the surface you are flattening does not create sraight lines(?) when it is flattened. Do you want to email me the suface you are flattening? Or Go to side cplane create an arc then make a draft surface on the arc with no taper. flatten it Greg
  8. I am having difficulty setting up a kitamura I-80 for DNC from Mastercam v8. I get nothing at the control. V3.21 on the same pc commmunicates fine Anyone have anything constructive to offer? Greg
  9. Are you using milling software? What version? There may be a way to output the value for "Gap control" How is it calculated? email me direct at [email protected]
  10. Camman, You do not say what version of mastercam you are running or if this post was from the install CD. I assume v80 and mpfadal or mpfadal2. If you load mpfadal2 tap and rigid tap are different cycles you can select from the cycle pull down menu in the drill parameters. Greg
  11. Is it possible that each operation or new tool is using a different nci file name.
  12. I do not have any libraries myself. I would think that tool manufacturers would have this information
  13. There are two different types of nci files generated by mastercam. ASCII nci file Binary nci file The Binary nci file is stored within the mc8 file. The ASCII file is what the post uses to generate nc code You can also backplot an ASCII nci file. When you reverse post an NC file you get an ASCII nci file. The ASCII nci file cannot be converted into a binary nci file and cannot be incorporated into the mc8 file Greg [This message has been edited by Greg McKay (edited 08-25-2000).]
  14. On Mastercams homepage go to support free downloads. Download the file called appmch8-803.exe. Copy it into your APPS sup directory under your main v8 directory (mcam8). Run the file from explorer. It will update your multisurface toolpath functions. Then start v8 and try the ramp function again Let me know if it solves the problem
  15. use multipasses on the parameter page set number of passes to 2 and spacing 0.0
  16. Create a surface from the 3dcontour and use toolpaths multiaxis curv5ax. Send the 3d contour to [email protected] Include your name and number. I will call and expalin If you were using a spherical cutter you could just offset the contour
