  1. can you get a trial still for mold plus?
  2. what if you add a helix equal to your DOC in lead in/out? will comp behave the way you want?
  3. would you be interested in creating a misc canned text command and choosing "after"? will your post support canned text?

    X3

Happy B-day emastercam?? One thing I like already about X3 is that the direct module for SW is liking the hole wizard a little more. Thought I'd share some positive.
  5. I have someone interested in it right now to the extent of robotic welding. they want to know if it will verify by "putting material back on" in the welding process.
  6. I like creating a boundary box on a different level (create lines and arcs) and then picking the corner.

quote: Pony up the money and buy X3. or better yet pony up for maintenance and get X3 included. *Must be done by a certain time frame. quote: I can't understand how Mastercam can be so far behind other cam systems of similar price.I firmly disagree.

personally I would like to see this guy go away. This is a place to give and receive some tech assistance in the use of MC. Not try to trash it because your sales of some other platform are falling. This discussion alone is in the wrong forum. Should be in the off topic, but I see he's infected the place with his stench there as well.
  9. (from help) Use this C-Hook to apply Mastercam's toolpath filtering function to an external NCI file. This is most useful for toolpaths that don't have the filtering feature as a standard option, such as wireframe toolpaths. After opening the C-Hook, Mastercam prompts you to select the NCI file. The Filter dialog box displays. Enter the filter settings and click OK. Mastercam prompts you for a name for the modified NCI file. Once you have saved the filtered NCI file, you can import it into your current part file. Typically, you will need to do this in order to post it. If the original operation is also in the current file, you might wish to disable posting for it.
  10. the five fundamentals never change... speed feed rigidity depth of cut coolant
  11. quote: ps ; no disrespect to leftys, and if you know of a good left hand pitcher please send him to astros !! No offense taken, but I prefer you send him to the Rangers.
  12. MC art was necessary to capture a growing customer base. Which by the way, funds the improvements one way or another as well as maintenence to achieve enhancements else where. Just an educated guess at best.
  13. quote: Just looking out for the legit folks that's all. I hear ya man, I have a unique perspective on this myself. The one man bands (illegit) ruin it for the folks shelling out hard made cash to do it legit and is criminal to them and to CNC to support them.
  14. After checking my email there seems to be alot of employment ads coming from Kyle's part of the planet. I've received two in my inbox so far today. Is that you Kyle?
  15. I don't remember this much discussion surrounding contract consulting before. It's very interesting to read everyone's thoughts on the matter. Especially about the pirates...
  16. do you have a tailstock that latches to the carriage to move into position? wild guess as you may could tell.
  17. go back to cd and put coolant on in quotes thusly, "on". this should work to force coolant on.
  18. quote: maybe it will be in X3? that would be sweet.
  19. when I was a kid I used to cut them on a mill to prep the blanks for LoneStar gage. NOBODY I've ever worked for turned higbees for fear of tearing up the machine. By the end of the day I had the formula wired. TGIF! when I have my notes in front of me I'll share for those interested and to save for search later in case I lose the thing. cheers!
  20. we are told to cut them at a slower rpm usually at 100 rpm so that's why I'm calculating the servo lag. (loss of pitch at encoder when speed changes) the idea is to be a little gentle on the ball screws. no other reason I can think of.
  21. Kevin, so how do calculate and do you comp the servo lag?
