  1. roughing with cobalt "corn cobb" roughers preferred from my perspective. no light chip load.
  2. quote: you can gram a mazak lathe way way faster with mazatrol than you can with mcam. not a slam, just fact just be sure to correctly "to the tee" describe any 55' of 35' tools or it'll do a weird little jig for you.
  3. look in settings, between screen and help at the top. it's in that drop down.
  4. oddly, I like the V9 converter better. It was quicker and something I did brought the axis into the wcs mgr in V9 and not in X. Pete R. fixed the scaling for me on the stl issue a week or so ago. The fix BTW is on the ftp for all to get when Jay gets all the damn hackers off it. It will work with X2.
  5. quote: Shame on your ancestors. lol! Colin, I've got coffee runnin out me nose now!
  6. Colin, It seems the most important step I was missing was the plane creation. I followed your steps and problem solved. I follow two measly lines and got all twisted without creating a plane/new view and got twisted. thanks again,
  7. Colin, thanks for taking the time to type all that. I will print it off and try it out in a day or so. (Off thurs)
  8. had a hard time finding John's posting on this issue try his fix, sorry I took so long. John is probably tired of repeating this. I have disabled the Front End Buffer He's running a 1300 and not a 1100 but give it a try.
  9. quote: Hey King, have you had a run in with Hu Flung on the CNCzone before? don't know him, but this guy seems to be related to him. over the years I've seen trolls come and go. they'll go away and then others will follow.
  10. unified course/unified fine (pitch)???
  11. on the one I programmed and ran it was B. It didn't have the "five axis" type servo, it was just position and lock in place. I don't know if that makes a difference.
  12. doesn't the fadal use hydraulic fluid in the tank?
  13. My cousin is a machinist your way Jimmy. I here the carolinas are/were booming. thoughts?
  14. That's actually not a bad suggestion Thad. I am rotating out of "air-plane" coordinates so their are situations were it could work and some it won't. I'll try first opportunity.
  15. it worked out well for what we were doing. thanks again,
  16. Bryan, yeah I was trying to rotate out of one plane and in to another, but I had indicated the wrong end of one line so it spun it 180 for me in addition to what I wanted. I'm still trying to perfect this routine this morning. I'd still like to see the preview axis to get an idea if I'm going in the right direction.
  17. I just tried again, I copy pasted your addy so hopefully it will work this time. Problem is probably on my end, we have had some issues with mail lately.
  18. my vericut s/u guy is trying to convert UG to IGES. It's parked on ftp-to be converted to. anyone have time and UG? snk_head.ug
  19. I got it figured out. I wasn't as careful as I thought. It would be nice however, if the preview axis was shown like it was in v9 and aswell in X when you pick geometry to create a new wcs.
