Yeah Scott I always projected points at the grid intersections. If you need them normal on the sides, just project onto one side at the intersections, then the ones that are not relativly flat project normal to the surface.
How's it going at Covert? Say hi to everyone for me.
Same here, change names the normal way. Do you think there is maybe a problem with your install and the inability to change your names is just another symptom like your posting problem? I also have a side by side install, have had some minor issues but none like this.
Clearance should be set to your 7.2... DIM / ABS
Retract 6.4... DIM / ABS
Top of stock 6.3... DIM / ABS
Depth 5.574 DIM / ABS
There is a number of ways to do this, some of these can be set to INC depending on the Z location of the point picked.
You should be outputing the G98 instead of the G99, That is more then likely in your post, not sure how to change.
This is a quick example of what the posted program should look like.
N120T8M6
N130G0G90G54X0.Y0.S4000M3
N140G43H8Z7.2
N150G98G81X0.Y0.Z5.574R6.4F16.
N160G80
N170M5
N180G0G28G91Z0.
N190G0G28G91Y0.
N200M30
I hope this helps some.
Note the line before the G81 line on your example. The Z 6.4.. should not be there, this should be your clearance plane 7.2....
We have 2 seats where I work. On my system I did a side by side install and have not had any problems. My apprentice did a copy over or (replace) install on his machine. He has since had problems with his tools being renumbered sequentially. We can go and change to, from tool, but it only sticks for a couple of days then it starts renumbering them again.
Is this the type of problem you are talking about? If so I would like to know how to fix it also.
Yes it would be a nice feature. The software that I started (learned) CAM on had it. It was nice to be able to tell how deep your deepest cut actually was without jumping through hoops. It is something I would like to see, not editable, but selectable.
I do not have lathe so I am not sure if this will work, but if you hit the explode button it delets all groups and asks you to make new ones. If you have lathe and mill dose it ask which one to create?
I use every type of plane creation available. As was mentioned before if there is a problem with no angle output to the toolpath it's usually something I did.
It can be done with the post or machine def., not sure how yet, I'll look into it. My new Haas post that I got from my reseller imports machine geometry as soon as you load it. I have not looked into how it dose this yet but it dose.
I have had a crash in MR2. I hit the post button while verify was running. verify stopped and the files posted, then verify continued. After it was done I could not exit it without MCX hanging. I did not even think you could activate any other buttons while verify was running in MR1. I am currently useing a laptop with my regular monitor as a right hand screen, MCX screen on the right with operations manager, and level manager on the laptops screen. I lost track of what was going on on the right screen and hit the post button on the operations manager on the left.
