OK I'll give it the translator, and the processing time. But it dose not even come close to MCX in 2D work.
We have 4 seats here. They can read almost any IGS file.
Surfaces made in PowerShape are usually crap in MCX, at least the ones I get.
Never used the software though so can't coment on ease of use.
Yeah Matt it's always contrarry on Mondays, but this 3 day weekend realy P!$$ed it off.
Smit this file was only 7.3MB quite small for me. I tried about 4 times this morning. 2 of them times it locked up MC, had to kill it. I was just trying to check the pick programs (leftover), but still it should have worked.
Friday I created 2 STL files from verify. I am running thru multiple operations and I am creating STL files every so many ops. so that I don't have to run all operations thru verify at one time. Today when I try to creat an STL file I get a 0MB file.
Has anyone else seen this? Am I doing something wrong? Should I have just stayed home today?

Althuogh I had about 4 months on V9.
The only reason I switched softwares was the promis of X comeing out. I still have my old Ideas CAM software installed.
All toolpaths where better then what I was useing except flat surface faceing and drilling. Drilling was about the same just went about things differently. Faceing was worthless compared to what I had available, It has since been improved beyond my original software capabilities. The only real downside to V9 was the interface, which was corrected with X.
So I'm with the others that said "NO"
Yeah we have DelCam products here. They tried to get the posts modified for zero editing. For drilling no less. $5,000.00++ later it's a good post now they only need to modify a couple of things after they post the program. I got my MasterCam posts modified for free. "ZERO edit", post and go.
The only post we had to pay for was the 5-axis post.
Good luck with that DelCam thingy.
I am still haveing problems with MoldPlus crashing MCX2 MR1 SP1. I got the new DLL file from Todd everything went fine the first day, now it crashes every other time I use it.
???????????????????????????????????????
Yes I would like to know what is going on also. I have been haveing Moldplus Crashes also. I am to the point that I save before opening MP, and only do a limited amount of work get out and save again, then back in.
I almost never use world origin (Top view, 0,0,0). I set up a workplane for my jobs, so they don't move from where they are created. I use a three point method instead of the 2 line method, (pick center point, pick X point, pick Y point)orientation is correct 99.999999%of the time.
When I do fixed angle 5-axis work, (I guse you call it 3+2)I creat my angled planes the same way. These angled planes have the same origin as my main workplane. I too have a problem with ops going dirty when I change toolplanes. Dose not happed every time. Dose not effext entire op groups, just some ops. Only need to regen and everything is fine.
I use the filter. I have heard you will get a better finish without it, but we don't try for that good of a finish where I work, so I go for the smaller program.
Scallop or stepover, dose not make any differenc. You change one and the other changes. They are coresponding values. You get this scallop height (.xxxx) at this stepover (.xxx). I usually try for a scallop height of (.0002"). For a 1" ball mill this would be (.03") stepover, for a 1/2" ball mill it would be (.02"), and so on.
Thank you Thad. I understand now. I could not stand V9, so I did not use it unless I needed it. I did not do a complete switch from my old software until X, so did not know all the tricks in 9. From the explination above it sounded like window + crossover was what he was looking for.
On your general selection bar, Right next to the ALL and ONLY buttons there is a window with "In" in it. This window has a drop down button, select the "In+" in this window. This alows you to window geometry, it selects inside and crossing the window. Which I think is what you are looking for.
Migration brings in previous settings, such as toolbar configurations. If there is a new function Icon, this will not be put in your toolbar. If it put it in your toolbar it would change your configuration.
