  1. Yes! In the toolpath mangager, open circle milling and find Threadmill. Easy to use and works very well.
  2. Finally back to work! Thanks for the replies. The shrink fit tooling is now a dead issue. I'll have to deal with the old crap that I'm currently using. Our trode department rocks and we'll continue to burn the hard to reach areas.
  3. This will be our first shrink system. I just don't want a cheap piece of junk. I've seen other shrink systems, including 20 cat-40 holders for $10K (http://www.shrinkfit.com/package.htm). I guess I'm looking for a good buy, but only quality systems. Are you happy with your system?
  4. We are getting this system quoted for possible delivery by next week. Anyone with experience using the Haimer Heat Shrink products?
  5. Our filing system is setup as follows: S:CustomersInnovation 5896 6000 6005 6121 "Innovation" is a folder representing the customer name. The four digit numbers are subfolders representing the job number of that customer. I have the MC9 data path setup as "S:". The programmer saves and retrieves his MC9 file from one of the "job number" folders. Eg: If he saves his file to the 6121 folder and saves it again after making some changes, the file-save window automatically pops up with the 6121 folder as open. But, if he posts a toolpath, then saves the file, the file-save window reverts back to "S:". We want the file-save window to automatically pop up with the 6121 folder opened. This particular workstation used to work that way, but after some messing around with the computer, it no longer does that.
  6. We still have a few seats of VS.9 that a few of the guys are using. I'll give an example regarding our minor issue. The programmer will bring in an MC9 file, program a few toolpaths and save it. He will "file get" the file again, make some changes and when he hits the file - save icon (or text in vs9), the correct directory automatically pops up in the screen. No problem here at all. ALTHOUGH.... If the programmer happens to post a toolpath, and then saves the MC9 file again, the DEFAULT directory (as stated in the config file) pops up on the screen, rather than the correct directory. This ONLY happens if a program is posted. Any ideas?
  7. We use the Varimills on a daily basis. The speeds/feeds are dead accurate on the OKK. But..... I no longer slot cut with those mills on the new Haas machines. They'll just chatter and snap. We only slot cut with Weld-On (set screw style) holders.
  8. Has anyone seen the above problem? I still have not been able to resolve this. Chris from CNC is working on it, but he hasn't been able to duplicate this problem either.
  9. Awesome! That was it. Thank you!
  10. When I'm using Analyze Dynamic, I used to have an arrow pointing away from the surfaces that I'm analyzing. I just noticed that the arrow is gone, but it worked fine on Friday. Any suggestions? I would love to get that arrow back.
  11. gcode, I just applied your advice relating to the number of undos and your thread related to the advanced performance settings. These changes made a DRAMATIC effect on everything! This tube is MUCH faster. We'll see if this reduces the lag problem. THANKS!!!
  12. I don't have the immediate lag problem. My system seems to fade toward the end of my shift, but shutting down Mastercam and starting it back up certainly helps. My biggest gripe isn't the lag problem. I just wanna generate toolpaths much faster like the other cam package on my tube.
  13. Hmmm. All of my models are imported as Parasolid or STP files and converted to surfaces. We still have the problem.
  14. I have the same lag issues. Quadro FX 1400. Same lag with 77.56, 84.26?, 91.36, and the latest Beta driver. I have a hard time restmilling and using the HSM toolpaths. They take waayyyyy too long to generate.
  15. You actually don't have to move the posts since the control defs direct to the posts in the old folder, but I prefer to move everything in the new folder and reconfigure my control and machine defs. I might decide to delete the old folders at a later date.
  16. You must move your old machine defs and posts to your new MR1 Folder
  17. Hmmm. I have two junk spindles, a two junk motors, a junk automatic coolant nozzle, a few versions of junk software, a junk rotary cable, all with the Haas logo on them. Oh sheez, I almost forgot about the junk relays that were replaced in the back of the machine. But.....they're only 8 months old. Hehehehhe
  18. Oh, I also have Unigraphics loaded on my pc too. But the owner won't pay for training so that is on the backburner. It looks like a nightmare to learn.
  19. My coworker programs 3d in Powermill. It is MUCH faster than Mastercam! But.....you can't beat Mastercam's 2d capabilities. Mastercam is also a design software. You can't alter geometry in Powermill. He uses both softare packages to program most of his parts. I have Powermill loaded on my tube, but I haven't had the time to explore it yet.
  20. Ok, so what don't you like about X?
  21. I have also messed with the 85 and 191 SETTINGS and have not noticed any increase in quality. Doug is right. Run 30-50 IPM and the corners will look better. I can run the same programs in a corner on my Fanuc 18i controlled Yama-Seiki at speeds above 100 ipm and have a much better finish than the Haas.
  22. That happens to me once in a while and I haven't figured it out either.
  23. I would love your idea applied to the toolpath editor. I would love to select an entire group of passes to delete rather than deleting every path individually. Good idea Colin!
  24. I already had the "group colors" box unticked. Pete, you have mail. Thank you.
