  2. Hi all I have a LU-15 okuma with OSP 7000i but am struggling to write an internal threading program for M36. & also M42 any help on this be greatly appreciated as I know there is a lot of Smart cookies on this site cheers Matt
  3. Change the overall length of your tool in your program and re-post. Best way to check is to use a known gauge on the machine to check for these type of issues. Make a block with different angles and then do a shim check at each angle to ensure the changes you have made are exactly what you were thinking before cutting the part.

Pragmatically, if you've programmed your part to what you believe the center of rotation was and then find out that it's not the real center of rotation, if you don't have TCPC/Work Correction, I would move the plane (or model) in your CAM system to the Real center of rotation and repost. You can hack around trying to do individual work offset corrections, but if you're using simultaneous 5 axis motion, they'll all be wrong. Moving the model in CAM will ensure that no matter what you do, it'll be correct without fiddling. That's why TCPC is worth what they charge for it!

  10. Yeah why I get work is this very reason. At least 20 different times I have had to go in and help dial in machines after this was done.
  11. Break it up on these machine is standard practice. X Y and C should be possible with the correct post and toolpath. 3 Axis toolpath probably not would need to use a 5 Axis toolpath set to a 4 Axis output and that should give you what you need, but will need to have a 5 Axis License to do it.

  13. At my old place we had to call a service guy because the machine wouldn't come out of emergency stop There was a pile of boxes that had fallen over and pushed it in by the tool changer magazine behind the machine

  15. I wish I could remove the common offset from the offset list. I had to drive 3 hours on a Saturday because "..we don't know what is wrong with the machine... no there isn't ANYTHING in the common offset...". Emphasis theirs. 30 seconds after I arrive, problem fixed and I'm headed back home. Uncool.

  17. If FANUC options are installed in the field, the FANUC Engineer will not configure them. He or She will only turn them on. It is up to your builder/dealer to configure them. Why is that you ask? Ask the guy at Haas that decided to call ANY single rotary axis "B" axis... he's got a part time gig at a few machine tool builders... I'm sure of it.
  18. Machine - Okuma LB3000 MYW Y-axis +2.76” / -1.77” We have a part that can be machined complete using XC moves, but XY moves would be more rigid and precise. Mastercam does not output X+Y+C moves as far as I know. Aside from breaking up the toolpath into multiple sections, is there a way to limit how far Y tries to go plus and minus? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you

  21. I couldn't get flowline to work. And no, I have to use a 1/2 inch ball endmill
  22. Flowline? Or can you use a chamfer end mill and just use contour?
  23. I have to use a 1/2 inch ball endmill to chamfer a .25 x 45 deg wall. I've tried a couple operations but so far the best is surface finish contour, but its doesn't look right. Any one have any suggestions? I need to go from the bottom to the top as well.
  24. If I understand what is happing either way will get the job done but adjusting the WO common is risky if he forgets to set it back. I've made that mistake more then once. I think a program stop before and after the toolpath and then using the TLO to make the adjustment would be the best way.
  25. No It used to be but several years back they began charging what I am told is mostly a nominal fee..it cost time & effort to keep it up and add things to it
  26. Make a path that leaves .05 and a finish with a. Force tool Change. Then you can repost after the feature is known to work
