In our company we are going to go to a windows

xp pro environment world wide.

Right now we are running windows 2000 service pack 4.

We will not have a choice but to go to xp pro

any comments or problems with xp and mastercam

or quirks in the operating system.

You must update your Hasp driver.,you`ll find update on Mastercam site .

 

On XP - no comments

I'm running it (XP Pro) at home with an NVidia FX-5600 with no problems. I don't like all the stinking "eye-candy" thaat comes with XP. So I make it look like 2000 Pro. Works well.

James .Windows classic for Windows XP makes it more stable too,pleaze don`t laugh ,I checked it .

 

If I work with Windows ,I always prefer Win2000pro.

Frickin' Mori Seiki.... gotta put that "MAPPS", or CRAPPS as I call it, basically a PC front end on a Fanuc Control.... on all their machines. You know what.... just gimme the friggin Fanuc Front end, it's simple, straight forward, and fast, unlike that CRAPPS CRAP.

Hi all,

 

I run 2000 Pro sp4 on a dell laptop

and XP Pro on Dell desktop set as classic

both run good with MC but the desktop outruns the laptop on every file I try.

Lotta eye candy on XP but really pretty stable OS imho. At home I run XP Home on a Dell Desktop and I like it fine.

 

Oh yeah alot of patches all the time sux.

IT was in and ran Windows Update again yesterday since they worry about virus problems and trojan horse crap. Ask your System admin to give you full admin rights if possible. We have it here at work so we can run defrag otherwise you have to get IT to come and do it for you.

I also have XP at home and run it in Classic mode even have the My computer and My documnets on the desktop as well just like it has been since win 95 and have no problems with Mastercam at home either.

I looked at a couple of or engineers computers

and xp does look like an animated cartoon!

I will remember to set it up in windows classic

I run both Home and pro on all but the server.

Love it works great.

you will only have to update drivers for mastercam if you are loading Version 8 or earler.
