Multiple Offsets

Recommended Posts

I normally take the long way and copy my operations and alter the WCS and toolplane, to out put an E2 or whatever offset I want I use a fadal so E2 is my G55.

Or I will copy the program find and replace offset # with what I want and paste it original, This sounds like a pain in the arse but its not bad.

Alot of people I am sure have simpler ways so I will learn something as well.

Aerotech,

In the operations manager, select all the operations that you want to change. Right click of the mouse while pressing the shift key -> Options -> Edit common parameters -> T/C plane button -> In the lower left of the screen, change the work offset.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

SO if I am catching this right you want to make to parts the same and have one G54 the other g55 and only have one drawing of the part?

If this is so use Toolpath NextMenu Transform.

this will give you the option to duplacate the paths and give it another say G55.

' Edit common parameters doesn't '

Was said by someone in another thread here and I wholeheartedly agree

Jay is definitely on the right track if we understand you correctly

Personally I like to create new geometry when I do this so I can see if my cutters are gonna clear the adjacent part but if that's not an issue for you you obviously don't need to worry about it

+1000 on the Transform I use it all the time and it rocks. If you are using it and drilling cycles you will need to be very careful you get clearance planes to work right and get a good retracting between operations. I have modified all of our post to add reduntant code to force what I want but works like a champ.
