Mastercam on WINMX

I don't know if anyone else uses WINMX, but there are several MCAM versions floating around out there, including X on this file server. One of my programers brought in a patch dowloaded from this site and used it to try to unlock the HASP codes. Needless to say, it did nothing of the sort but made a mess of his PC and had to re-install Mastercam. Just thought it might be a good heads up for all.

Not a great fan of such things and do not want to discuss them here ,and may be my English is too bad ,but "Unlock " looks like shamanism .

You will give him access to play with machine parameters too :

Unlock support for this or that ?

 

I also can not understand ,why do you talk about this sort of things at all here ,to get your programmer in trouble ?

Now here comes a moral aspect :

I am beta tester and keep my word and never will say a word or give one byte of info to nobody ,I respect the agreement and the oath I made ,but suppose I have enemies at work ...I would not do what you did too .

I have my moral principles .

The person who downloaded this so-called patch from WINMX did so on his own personal time, later installed it without anyones permission here at our place of buisiness. We will take the appropriate steps on our side to deal with the situation. In fact we already have. I thought I was doing fellow Mastercam users a favor to inform them that using unauthorized software patches (or illegal if you prefer) can do more damage than good, as was the case in this situation. Sorry for the post....zipppp

w/ bootlegg software and was'nt informed til after

I left one job and started there. So for me it

hits close to home.

They we eventually busted for it, but after I was gone.

I'm sure CNC will appreciate any info you can send

them regarding this site.

 

BTW, This is for your employee.

Tell him he was bad, and take his toys from him.

I got hired by a place in Anaheim a few years back. They showed me thier 4 seats of V8 and said they were upgrading to 9 ASP.

I called Arlenee and asked.

One legal seat of V6

Just hold me tight ! This is because he is one of the new wave of lamers thinking that PC assemling similar to lego and Windows is simple like a cigarette lighter .

It looks your problem is different - you believe

that evil Mastercam Maintenence release scrutinized and demolished (punished ) the guy`s pc .

I never bash anyone .

I say that many times the things you are so proud off looks way too different from my point of view .

I would educate this guy .

I would explain to him moral aspect and technical one too .

What`s wrong with that ?

This guy would understand that you can not "unlock " Hasp (not go into details ) and

would at least make a good and right system backup (registries ,critical files and so ) for successful roll -off (I bet he would never success in cracking ) .

So look on me and my moral principles :

yes to loyality ,obligation to the agreement ,

Yes to computer education ,and no to cracking (you heard from me one word about it )?

Yes to helping people and no to betraying and respect to the people you working with

Looks like time to change his administrative rights. Make it so he can't install software, only run it. I hate to crack down on people but sometimes you have to for the good of the company. Too much to lose.
