The c-hook starts Vericut automaticaly from Mastercam with either G-code or the NCI. I always use G-code. Also brings in Tools and holders.

I make a .stl of the billet and fixture and bring that in.

Remember if using a Horizontal machine rotate fixture and billet -90 degrees in side view.Vericut thinks B0 is top view.

Bruce,

The VERICUT manual is included on the software CD. You can access at any time by pressing F1, it is context sensitive.

There is also a printable PDF file on the CD. I would recommend printing only the pages you need. The manual has about 1300 pages.

The C-Hook is a purchased module. I verified and your company bought it also.

Rick,

We ordered the whole kit and kaboodle I think. Our 3 programmers are at the training course as we speak. I didn't get to go because I now have a slightly different role here and couldn't make the time. I'll pick it up as I need from them when they get familiar with it.

We use VeriCut with the MC c-hook as well. We also use the OptiPath add-on. Optipath has saved us huge amounts of machining time by optimizing the feedrate based on the volume removal rate of the cutter. In other words, if the tool is buried in the material the cutter slows down, if the cutter is taking light cuts, the cutter speeds up. All this while, at the same time, verifying the g-code.

Well worth looking into, especially if you have only a few machining centers.
