Ergonomics is exellent, the programmable buttons are very cool. the new puck is very smooth and controllable.

They have a 14 day trial. hmmmmmmm

You do not need to show proof of a student to purchase it

I bought a Spaceball from them at the educational price and they required a student ID before they would ship. They took my money, then asked for the student ID. Good thing I

had one tongue.gif

A guy here at work bought a Space Pilot and loves it. He took it home before I had a chance to play with it though.

They are available on Amazon.com for $440

I got my Space Pilot in this week.

Dell has them on sale for $370.

The motion in Mastercam and SolidWorks is excellent.

When you set a center of rotation in X, it stays there till you change it or close X.

As others have reported, none of the buttons work in Mastercam. (V9 or X)

3D Connexion Customer Support has been helping me with a SpaceMouse/CATIA issue and they called me this morning.

I asked him about Mastercam/Space Pilot.

He said the current Mastercam drivers are V7 vintage. He also said they have been working closely with Mastercam on the X project for

over a year and that new drivers will be up on their website next Monday.

I forgot to ask if they'de be backwards compatibale to V9, but I'll find out next week and

post the results.

The new drivers are up on the 3D Connexion website

They come with 2 different configs for X

I've been very busy and haven't spent any time

trying to program buttons, but the default configs

work very well in X ( and SolidWorks too.)

My sculpted palmrest came in last week.

With MC as the active program, click on the icon in your systray, create your setting sthe way you want, save them and everytime you start MC and it is the active program, your settings will be the avtive one.

I have configurations for SOlidwaork, UGNX, Mastercam, which ever program is the one on the screen those settings are the active ones.
