mergeing mcx geometry files

any mcx geometry I merge onto the screen

turns the color red and stays red even though the sreen is cleared and repainted. it analyzes as

the original color and level.

Go to Sytem Config/Colors and uncheck

"Use Group and Result color in Xform"

There is a check box under the "Colors" section of the Configuration dialog box for "group colors". There are options for "use entity colors" or "use group's color". Set yours to "use entity colors" and you will be good to go.

does the "use group and result color in xform" effect the color when merging an existing mcx file. i have the same problem as blue hootie but was just leaving it. plus it doesn't happen all the time. and i have "use entity colors" checked.

This use to be the problem with X and Xmr2 also. When we import geometry it comes as Default group colour and we can not clear that colour.

The way i am doing is by Xform copy the whole group(import geometry) to new location and delete group and use result as my geometry as then I can clear colours or can change colour for different entities.

One thing you can do (what I do) is to just select it, hit delete, and then hit "CTRL+Z", or the undo button.

 

Although, I just implemented GCodes' config settings, so I'll see how that goes

Actually, Colin has the answer for merging files. Gcode's solution is for Xform operations.
