Im using comcast cable internet service

and during the day it says to break files

into pieces if I try to send anything over

50 K - anyone else have limited bandwith

and if a 2 meg part file is sent in pieces

will it re-assemble correctly at the other end

Really O/T but no I have Verzion Fiber Optic and work from home all the time with no problems and send files 20 to 100 megs all the time using gotomypc

Cable internet wants you to break up files larger than 50k??

That's just stupid.

I've had cable for years, and never heard of that.

Is it the rate plan that you are on or something?

 

But all I can suggest is to email it to yourself and see if it re-assembles correctly.

I have comcast and have never heard of that before either. What happens if you don't break it down smaller?

have comcast and have sent files as large as 5mb.they send and recieve fine other than having to change the file extension from work because of the filters.

check your settings and check speedguide.net for help.

I also have Comcast and I wouldn't even notice a pause for a 2 meg file. I send 3-20 meg files all the time with no issues.

 

Are you using high speed cable and high speed splitters?

I use Comcast from home and don't have speed issues at all.

 

I get real quick download speeeds in the early am or later at night but that is simply a function of network traffic during the day I don't have an issue at all.

Sounds like to me. I have Comcrap also and send 10MB files without a problem.

If I send files to myself the message comes back to break the files and send them seperatley

I would be on the phone raising some serious cane. I pay $34.95 a month and I got 5 up 2 down with no problem. If I were spending that I could get 30 up and 15 down. They have some serious problems. I could do better than that 12 years ago on dial-up with a 26k modem.

But seriously,If you tell them that you are cancelling to go somewhere else they will listen.

I've done that before with Charter Cable and their ears perk right up when they hear the word "cancel" or Satellite or even DSL.

Even if it's an empty threat, I bet they will do something about it.
