X2 mr2 and wide screen monitors

Does a wide screen monitor effect mastercam? Our engineers say they cannot use one and I think I can for mastercam and inventor without distortion. I can buy a bigger widescreen for less than a regular monitor.

I know what you mean. When I go to my friends house I can't stand to watch his wide screen tv because it makes everything wider unless it is on HD. I'm not sure if MC gets streched out when using the wide screen flat panel monitors.

 

Ocean Lackey is there a setting somewhere for what type of monitor you use?

I do have a quadro fx 3400/4400 card.

Beardog. X2 and a widescreen play just fine together.. If you're running a Dell, bag the Dell

drivers and download the latest greatest from NVIDIA...I know it doen't happen often, but your engineers are wrong...

I just set Windose Screen Resolution to 1680x1050

I have a 17in Lap top it (does) stretch the screen. I have more room for Icons on top and less on the sides. My 20" dells, don't stretch. I have compared the two side by side.

We have an old school 21" monitor that is about the size of a small dorm fridge. It is so big and heavy we had to have a structural engineer come in and build supports! Maybe it will crap out one day and we will get a new flat panel. Maybe even two.

I have not seen a wide screen yet that didn't stretch. No matter the video card. You have to compare side by side.. Sure they look nice when thats all your looking at. Great for multi tasking programs, but not 3d graphics.

I've got a dell 24" set at 1920 x 1200. Works great for Mcam and any other program I run. We hot swapped monitors from a 21" while Mcam was running with a circle drawn on the screen. When we turned on the new monitor with the old settings, the circle was distorted, but when we set it to 1920 x 1200 the circle was correct, and everything fit the screen. Some wallpaper images are stretched though.
