I can't actually say for this model, but a few months ago I had the chance to beta test it's big brother, the M6400 with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700M video card and it was a screamer. If you go with the M4400 do as Todd said bump the RAM to 4Gig and bump the video card to the Quadro FX1700M and I think she would do pretty well.

I'm gonna say moderate to low. not enough imho

refurbed M90 or M6300 will be alot better for about the same money and get a 22 or 24" flat panel to with it. you get what you pay for

I have the 4300 with 4 gig and the NVIDIA Quadro FX 340M 512mb video card and has done me quit well. I have a almost 200mb Mastercam file with over 600 solids in it that is has no problem with that file. Not as fast as my Quad Xeon, but not much difference. I like the almost 4 hour battery life I get out of it and unlike other laptops I have it stays very cool and I can keep in my lap with no problem.

 

I worked on them for the price and paid less than $1700 for it.

Ok I'll go for the FX1700 Graphics card and the 4Gigs in Ram.

 

But another question arose.

 

32 bit system or 64 bit system?????

 

This has me stumped.

I'd go 32 bit on laptop. You get better use of 64 bit with 8 Gigs of RAM and there are more drivers needed on laptop, a 64 bit sore spot.

Jay large screens are nice. For a while I was using the 32" HDMI Flat Screen TV for Alibre. What a picture, and the little woman didn't mind at all.

 

LOL, BobScrap/Crap didn't make the cut so it never saw the 32". Though Alibre CAM got a few tests.

 

X3 is going to set the Living Room on Fire

Those little black bagss are handy for keeping Hasps and USB drives in. I have mine from a few years back, but it is starting to get a bit worn

 

One of the best things they used to give away, were the little straps to put on your USB hasps.

I use a Targus bag for USB's and Dongle for Predator Virtual CNC. It fits the Belkin HUB 4 port too. The bag is black velvet with a draw string.

I agree Mick on the show badge holders. this one shown is my main one for doing shows. Still has some of my old buss cards in the back and a MC pen.I had gotten a few extras at the last Westec that CNC handed them out so I have a few backups.

 

Toby the hasps look black in the picture but are a deep burgundy and the one in front is the old style that I keep on my key chain the one on the cup with the strap is half the size and same color.

This is the best Lap Top PC (most expensive too) I have ever ordered.

 

Ever since the Cadlyst review of the Dell Precision M90 it has been eye candy. Now there is one on the way.

 

Most of the jobs I have worked at use regular PC's to run software.

 

This is like going from a Manual Bridgeport to a 5 Axis CNC Mill.

 

This is all very exciting for me so I wanted to make sure MCX3 got a suitable professional PC to Run on. Can you blame me???
