Setup sheets

In v9 when I created a setup sheet it poped up almost immediately. Now in vx3 when I go to the op manager and right click to create a setup sheet it seems to take forever. Can anyone tell me if there is something I am doing wrong.

Try changing you setup sheet to GUI in Config./ Toolpaths its fast but vague. If you have X4 try the new Active Reports It blows X+ out of the water and its fully customizable.

X+ is what I use. It put in all the information the guys on the floor want. And wait, it is customizable. Gunther did a great job on it and has kept it up to date thru all the changes in mastercam and gives it to all of us for free. SCC1, most of the people on the board use X+ so please show Gunther the respect he deserves. You might like Active Reports, but you don't have to slam X+!

X+ is an OUTSTANDING utility. Definitely do not slam a FREE product. If you don't like it, don't use it.

I downloaded the X4 version from eapprentice, and couldn't find the .exe to install. So I downloaded from Dave's link, and everything is working fine, except it's in German. How do I change everything over to english?

In your System Configuration, go to Toolpaths, and under Setup Sheet program, select ActiveReport.

 

Then in your Operations Manager right click, select Setup Sheet.

When I first installed it the same thing happened. I don't remeber what I did but it is in englisg now. Search the topic, I think there was some talk about "English" dll or another file.

Thanks Dave. Surprisingly, that's exactly what I had already done. I copied the lang.dll from the eapprentice download, and pasted into the X+ folder. I didn't exit Mastercam first though.

 

Looks great now, except the "Z Max" column is HUGE when it goes to html, no matter how small I make it before hand (unless I shrink it completely so it doesn't show up). Now that I think of it, the Z Max column isn't important to me anyways, just the Z Min.

 

I really like Active Reports, but X+ is much better for the way we do things. Great addition to Mastercam!

Ok, two more things:

 

-Where do I put a copy of my logo.png to make it show up in the tool list? Right now I'm getting some German instructions, but I don't know what they are telling me.

 

-Is there a way to make the tool list display the tools in the order they are used?

Search for LOGO.PNG and just replace the default.

 

The tool list is the tool list and has no bearing on the ops. If it did, it would should the same tool over and over again.

 

Use the setup sheet to see the op and the tool used for that op.

Ahhh, thanks Dave. The logo.png was just in the X4 folder, which would explain why I couldn't find it. All dialed in now.

X+ is lightning fast and simple to use.

 

Active reports has it's place, but I see X+ being more useful for 80% of users.

X+ with the addition of lathe is very good and is very simple and powerful. Thanks Gunther I appreciate all the hard work you have done supplying us with such a great and free tool.

 

Active reports biggest down fall has been no documentation. Has its place, but over kill and trying to simply it down is a chore.

 

X+ is changeable on the fly and quick and configurable for any system. zoober had it working with an autocrib system at a place he worked at and sorry I do not see that happening with Active reports any time in the next few releases. How long have we waited for post documentation??? We are on X4 and still no complete post documentation.

WOW sorry I didn't realize X+ Users were so Passionate (sensitive) about a setup sheet. By the way I never said that it wasn't customizable, I just pointed out that Active Reports is. By the way Active Reports FREE also, And its Not a secondary Download its Part of the X4 download...

On a different note is X+ available in English/ Inches. I've herd many complaints that it is only metric.
