Problems with Surfacing a Pocket

I am having a problem trying to surface a pocket.

Is there anyway to attach this file to a post?

I am currently using Mastercam 4, version 4. This part is driving me nuts because I cant figure out how to surface the pocket.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've tried saving it on the ftp site. I have an ftp site myself so I am very familiar with them.

Its asking me for a username and password when I try to open the site in Windows Explorer. Viewing in FTP format will not allow the file to be copied and pasted or dragged as mentioned in the instructions.

HST toolpath would do very nice here. If you want to old school it then you could use surface finish contour and see what that does. Many choices here.

FTP basics 101.

Question always comes up so here is FTP methods 101.

#1 Download a free FTP client program. Filezilla is a free one I recommend and here their download link:

FileZilla Client Download.

Install the program on put the information for access the FTP to upload programs one time then all you need to do is hit quick connect and everything will be set-up from that point forward.

I tried drawing your solid, much easier if you put a file on the FTP.

Thanks.

DonK,

I see .60 and .625 depth callouts. Is that for the pocket ? For swept to work you would need to define the back wall that is straight with .375R and even then the transition from angled wall with .25R to straight wall with .375R going around the 2.00R might result in an error.

If the pocket tapers down your going to need to define more construction geo to create surfaces that could then be trimmed to each other.

Well I finally got this thing drawn up to print... almost. I could not get the .375 radii to blend so I changed them to 3/16.

I did manage to use a net surface on the left half of the part and I ruled the right half.

I completed the toolpaths. Could somebody critique this for me?

I put the file out in ftp as Mill3DTest1_Rev2.

Thanks
